yeah, but she said we need the welcome e-mail before that, I think. confused :( is it possible to pay the AOS fee without the e-mail aswell just like I did the ds261? ( I only have the IIN and case number that we got over the phone, but no beneficiary ID)

They email the welcome letter usually when they are ready for you to take the next steps.  The letter itself and your fees have no association.

You can pay the fees whenever they become available and this is usually an automatic system functionality.

Beneficiary ID no longer exists.

1) Get Case / IIN #

2) Log in and submit DS 261

3) Call and review DS 261 (starts the week time frame for IV fee unlock once reviewed)

4) AOS fee should unlock about the same time - pay it.

5) DS 261 review + 1 week OR AOS fee reflects PAID , whichever date is furthest out= IV fee unlocks

You can read through the NVC process guide in my signature for details.

hey morning if your iv says paid  does that mean they received your documents and started the review?

I thought that since my fees have been paid for a long time before I sent my documents that it would cut my time alil but it doesn't 😞 it's still up to 11 weeks for "review" (I think the actual "reviewing" takes place a week before you receive cc) the other weeks are just for them to get around to start actively reviewing it.

They don't start the 11 weeks until ds260, documents and all fees have been submitted. So I guess whenever you sent the last thing in that is required that is your "scan date" we completed the ds260 the same day we sent off documents.

I received my welcome letter via email, spoke with NVC just now and my DS261 was reviewed and approved yesterday so the rep said that my next fee bill should be available in the next 5 days.  I will be checking all through out the day, because they will tell you a certain amount of days and in all reality if you keep checking it will be available sooner.  I read once on this site that once your case gets to NVC you pretty much control how fast your case moves.  I am trying to have everything in by next week so that I can hopefully get an Interview date in July at the embassy in Dominican Republic.

Well if you only have two weeks left to reach the 11 week mark. You should still be in time for a June interview huh? Well If your consulate isn't full for June.

I am in my 4th week of waiting. Scan date April 3rd.

You control it to a certain extent now I guess 😞 when it comes to how fast you get your stuff submitted to start your 11 week review time. Hopefully they cut the review time back down to 30 days soon!!

I hope so, my friend who just got here from DR entire process took 9 months, her husband is a US citizen and so I am, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed, my process started in Nov of this year.

Yea it's alot of waiting. Our whole process started in 2015 but we had some set backs and also had to file a I 601a which added about 7 months so we're just now arriving at the last stage. But hopefully it will be over with soon!

Good luck!
