called nvc today, ironically spoke with the same lady i spoke with yesterday lol. but anyway she clarified that being in the review department may or may not mean being actively reviewed as they wouldn't know if it was being reviewed or is just in line to be reviewed.

you may ask them "Are my documents currently being reviewed as we speak?" that worked for me, after few days when the rep told me it is under review / being reviewed as of this moment and will be finish soon (i got my case completed 3 days after)

goodluck :) try to call them everyday :)

Thanks.

Could you share your document delivery dates as reported by courier and the scan date ?

The last item from us was delivered a few days ago . How far does that move our scan date ?

please try to call NVC everyday and confirm your scan date, don't stop calling until they gice you a scan date.  scan date sometimes may be 2-5 working days, for some it is longer.. for me, unfortunately  took 2  months (when i sent the documents, i didnt call them and waited for 8 weeks before calling NVC (which of course is my fault) i assumed that  scan date would be when my documents were delivered to NVC

Contacted congressman and it appears to me that there is nothing they can do - just received info that - "it will take up to 11 weeks," as we all know already. It does not appear that calling NVC has any effect on the case at all, the rep from NVC told me today "no use calling until May 16th."

you may still call to follow up, once or twice a week, to let them know you are persistent to know the status, they may answer you the same way everytime

but hoping you'd get the chance to talk to a nice representative, and please take note there are some cases that case gets completed earlier than 11 weeks.. goodluck :)

Just got a checklist :( February 2nd scan date.

They need the Canadian visa for both myself and my spouse(we are UK/Irish citizens living in Canada). It is veru frustrating because none of the documents listed as required included this and I ran everything by the lawyer before sending them. He said we were not missing anything.

Is a checklist a guaranteed 8+ further weeks or do they sometimes process checklist documents faster? Does calling up and begging for a supervisor to review (esp when it is just one extra document per person) ever work? Very depressed by this.

Also, they say if I dont provide this visa, I will have to take my interview in my last country of residence(the UK). Can I just call them and say to schedule my interview in London so I dont have to wait another 11 weeks. I would prefer to fly back to Europe than wait another 11 weeks. (We do have valid Canadian visas with more than 6 months validity so that's not the concern). Or do you have to do consular processing in the country in which you are resident? BTW this is an Employment Based Green Card.

Hi everyone! I'm joining you from the September filers thread! Our I-130 got approved and we declared me (the petitioner) as the agent yesterday. Looks like we'll have to do Mail Processing, unfortunately, but hopefully it'll go smoothly.

Our main concern is that we are both living overseas and I don't have a U.S. domicile. Can y'all give some advice on how to prove our intention of returning to the U.S. indefinitely? I've always kept a bank account, voted, renewed my drivers' license etc. Our plan is to live with my parents to start, can they write a letter confirming this plan? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks and good luck to everyone!

I have a question. Hopefully someone can give me an answer. My question is on the DS-260 (where it shows work history the first page.) when it ask "Primary Occupation" is that your current job or can you choose from the drop down list. Do National Visa Center look at your Primary Occupation and work History after you send in the DS-260?

Hope someone can help me on this. Thanks in Advance A. James.

Call them and ask if there is a choice for you and how you can convey your decision to them. Frankly, I would also choose to travel to rather than to take a chance and wait; so I am not going to advice you to just send your VISA to them. All I can advice here is make sure to get the answer to your query, "how can I inform NVC that I am willing to travel to England for Interview?"

Sent off on March 23

Scan date: March 30

I didn't realize the wait would be this long until I signed up to this site. I had been really excited when I received the 30 days letter after completing the DS260. This new information broke my heart. We are at the last leg of the journey. Here goes another, and hopefully final countdown. Good luck to everyone waiting. May the time race by quite easily for us all. :)

Our scan date is 03/30 as well

Yes, I think you should convey your decision vocally to a Supervisor and opt to travel to UK for an interview. The wait would be very long!
