B2 visa for wife of green card holder husband

hi .I am a doctor and currently working in a hospital in my home city.i am married for one year with a green card holder husband.he submitted my case last year in may 2016.i am planning to visit him this year to celebrate eid on B2 visa..what are the chances of getting this visa approved??

I'll be honest, your chances of being turned away when you land are possible. I submitted my greencard application last year in march, I'm now at NVC stage. 

I hold a B2 visa current since 2008 and wanted to visit for a wedding but have been told I'm unlikely to be allowed as it's close to my case complete. I was told even though I have that visa, immigration can decide not to let me in.  Not sure where yours is at currently but the closer to the finish line you are, the more likely they will see it as an attempt to stay. 

 

Worth asking your local American consulate though.  I would ask them for sure. Just remember having the B2 doesn't guarantee entry. It doesn't give any more right to entry than a visitor visa does ... it just makes them ask less questions in my experience and let's you stay longer. I would personally think they're more likely to approve a visitor visa with a limited stay timeframe than a B2 that allows you to stay up to 6 months.

thanks for your reply..so u mean the chances are not bright for me getting the B2 visa.well,my spouse case was submitted in may 2016..there is no such positive sign coming from it though 10 months have gone till now.

If you do not, then do not waste your time/money applying. I know how difficult it is to be away from loved ones for the important holidays. The problem is the B2 requires non-immigrant intent and you clearly have immigrant intent as you already have a petition submitted for you.

 

Keep in mind, it will take about 2 years (assuming no AP) to process your visa as the spouse of a GC holder.

In your case, your job is not enough to prove your return intent.

You can make that argument. However, your current immigration petition and your permanent resident husband in the US is a BIGGER intent to stay in US.

 

If you compare the two one is bigger than the other. Hint: You can always find another job in America if you never go back to your job in Pakistan.

hmm that's really disturbing.i so want to meet him and surely it's gonna take another yr to get the spouse visa.or may be long ..cx of Trump.i heard they are not showing any response to such cases.well is thr any other way I can show my return intent??

Feel free to apply, it is a VERY long shot you would get issued a B2, but a denial for the B2 will not negatively impact your spousal petition. You have clear immigrant intent. How could you possibly prove you have non-immigrant intent-which is what one needs to demonstrate in order to be issued a B2.

 

Perhaps your husband would be able to come visit you for Eid?

it's just $160 ..he can't come .he is doing an externship at a hospital in New York..I mean he is a doctor.but not settled yet.kind of a student in short..he will get free after March 2018

If you want to apply do so, does not cost very much.

 

If you can not leave your current job, why has he sponsored you?
