It's a rural area, but the plows usually do a decent job. When all was said n done we got about 30 inches http://forecast.weather.gov/product.php?site=BTV&product=PNS&issuedby=BTV

Nice pics Ori. I miss the tranquility of living in the country. When I had my house in NH I looked forward to these kinds of storms and riding the snowmobiles.

Yeah that's always fun although I have just as much fun if not more, taking the jeep on some wild roads. Not sure it appreciates it as much as I do, but the mechanics sure do. The road in the pics(the one with the mailboxes) you would think was for snowmobiles lol but it's actually a main road here, RT 7. That's what it looked like yesterday. Wasn't even that great this morning still. Several days ago they still only expected 6-12 inches, then it changed to 8-12, then 12+, then 12-18, and ended up at 30 lol...I'm sure ya know how that goes, also I'm sure it's still not as much as you guys got slammed with a couple years back.

We were originally supposed to get 12-18 inches out of that storm, but the snow was so wet and heavy, it only ended up being around 8-10 inches of heavy cement like snow. It was a real struggle for any snowblower to move it, had to do a lot by hand.

A few years ago we ended up with over 170 inches (if I remember correctly) for the winter. That was nuts.

Hmmm...for some reason I thought not that long ago, you guys got like 3 ft in one storm. Is there nowhere at all for snowmobiles in your area?

Here's a few more pics this time from the shop's perspective. It was fun ditching early the other day and playing resident evil 6 with the wife :D

Snow is just "fat water," but sheesh.

Had plenty of that in the Midwest, back when.

If I never see one more flake of snow, I won't care.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Those pictures remind me of the snow I think 2 or 3 winters ago? In NYC the cars parked on the streets were literally covered to the point where they looked like car-shaped snow mounds. The bike racks around the city similarly were completely covered so you wouldnt' even know they were there. Unfortunately I still had to work, though I was only 6 blocks walking from work so it wasn't so bad. I had friends who worked out in Queens, and the unlucky ones who happened to be in house at the time the snow got bad just slept in the call room a few extra nights.

Though the worst I heard was the hurricane in NYC now ~5 years ago? The people out in Queens had to sleep in the call rooms for 5 days straight and keep working before they could swap out with other people. Hospital gave them free clothing from the gift shop (sweatshirts etc...) just so they weren't in scrubs all day.

The cars you see in the pics would have been literally covered too, but they were already cleaned off several times throughout the storm lol(at times like 8 inches just off the roof). I remember the one in NYC as well cause my sister was living there at the time.

I believe that was 2 winters ago when we got about 170" total. Last year was very mild, not much snow to speak of and this year we've had a couple storms that dropped about a foot, but nothing more than that.

Not to evoke emotions in anyone, but just for comparison's sake:

Here, low 70s F., low humidity, light breeze, nearly cloudless skies.  Blew home and mowed very lush lawn before dark.  Mother Nature even relented and didn't start with the stronger headwind until I'd actually blown the clippings off a full third of the driveway.  Whole job necessitated the use of a mere two sweatbands.  Enjoying this before the soup of summer.

It was 70 here yesterday. However earlier in the week we had a low of 24. A record for March. We almost declared a state of emergency

lol, 12 here right now. I don't like it more than 70 anyway, I prefer the 60's provided it's not too windy.
