They say 7-10 days but it's generally about 3 working days. No harm checking your phone and email. I hounded my fiancé everyday to get him to check

Good morning everyone,

I'm a December but I wanted to give you some insight and hope. I mailed my K1 packet through USPS just at the end of November. I received my NOA1 on December 5th. The long wait to the NOA2 sucks. No getting around that. Stay focused and celebrate others receiving theirs. It will help I promise.  When you get your NOA1 you can check for updates or look at December filers. There are people who post updates on the processing. 

I received my NOA2 on March 2 2017. 

I then started calling the NVC twice a week. Monday there was still no update. I called today and I got the NVC case number and invoice number this is in addition to the USCIS number. The NVC guy said the packet should be on its way to the embassy next week, maybe 

it's a long process but just remember no one is purposely delaying the process they are inundated with hundreds of things to do everyday. Stay away from the negative Nellys. Realize you will be a negative Nelly at least once during this process.  And just breath. Once you get your NOA2 start gathering your paperwork for the next step. It will occupy your time and make you feel like you're finally doing something.

Hello everyone.  I just mailed my K1 packet on Monday March 20 via UPS.  My fiance is in Dominican Republic. The waiting game begins......it helps to read everyone's update

Thank you for your encouragement and setting some expectations for us! I was keeping up with the Nov thread for awhile and saw how some cases took longer than others to get their NOA2. It seems as though it's like CSC is just drawing a name out of a hat and somewhat disorganized in how they process the packets, but I know that sooner or later we'll all get our NOA2's and then it's off to the embassy for our interviews.

 

Is it bad I'm already doing everything like I have my NOA2? lol! I've already filled out the DS-160 for my fiance, just waiting for the NOA2 to submit it. That way I can get an interview date as soon as possible after submitting the DS-160. And, I've already filled out the I-134 form and printed out some of my tax forms. I'm just waiting to print out my paycheck stubs & get the letter from my employer about a month or so before the interview. I'm also preparing my fiance in what he needs to get before the interview too, so he doesn't do things last minute like he likes to do everything else lol.

Hey everyone!

I'm joining the March filers Crew.  So far I've sent my petition 3/14, it was received 3/17, and my check was cashed as well as my NOA1 was emailed today, 3/22.

 

i have been stressing the whole last week because although I diligently checked over my paperwork, I realized after my packet was sent that I accidentally signed my check on the memo line!  I was prepared that they would return it immediately because the check might not acceptable, but I can say for sure I've never been happier seeing $535 vanish from my account  and that my noa1 has come in.

 

i would also like to thank the VJ community, I would be totally lost without this site, so I hope I can contribute some back throughout my visa process.

Update your VJ timeline Register a myUSCIS account and you can track your case status with the receipt number. If assigned to CA, receipt number would start with CSC while TX is SRC.

Our petition was sent via USPS on march 13th, today we received a text message from USCIS that our case was received. However, when i enter the receipt number in https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus the following message appears:
 

"My Case Status does not recognize the receipt number entered. Please check your receipt number and try again. If you need further assistance, please call the National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283"

 

anyone else familiar with this issue?

Did you enter the entire number along with the 3 letters?

Maybe give it a few days to a week. I've read on here sometimes it's just slow to update. As long as you got the text/email followed by the hardcopy, it will be fine.
