Not sure entirely how the process in Morocco works as to the embassy.

But with the case number from NVC (the old USCIS number doesn't matter anymore), the NVC case number can be used in the CEAC site to track the petition under immigrant visa.

Your case status should say "in transit" or "ready", and you check it under immigrant visa, not non-immigrant.

Thanks guys for your help , i went on that link and i've checked my case and it said :

Your case is ready for your interview when scheduled at the U.S. Consular section. If you have already scheduled an appointment for an interview, please prepare your documents as directed in your appointment letter and appear at the consulate on the appointed date and time. Otherwise, please wait until you have been notified of your interview appointment. Additional information about how Immigrant Visa interview appointments are scheduled can be found at: http://nvc.state.gov/interview

yes, you got your information by calling

you should receive instructions on documents and forms needed including list of doctors for the medical

Casa needs 2 forms of crimianal investigation reports

one is police and other is driving (even if he has no licence)

if visa is approved the visa fee can be (and with Morocco it should be paid) ahead of leaving $220

Fill out now and send to him

Do not fill the DS 160 out now.  It's only good 30 days and you need your interview date first.  If you fill it out now chances are you'll be redoing it because most interviews at casablanca are scheduled a month to 2 months after they get your case.

You can fill out the DS-160 now but don't submit it until you know it's safe to do so. I don't know how it works in Morocco but I submitted my DS-160 as soon as my status showed ready, that was more than 30 days before the interview.

The DS-160 is a bit tricky to fill out, sometimes it takes quite a while to finish it. So start looking into it now, you can save it and just log in later on when you're ready to submit it.

i was thinking it takes so long for mail to get to morrocoso regular mail takes 6 weeks or  longer and i just sent overnight letter that took 20 days at cost of $65

how can someone get a DS 160 to interview and have it less than 30 days old if it takes so long for mail or don't they have to take the original in anymore like we did in 2010 for K1 interview.  Have things changed that much?

DS-160 is electronic, the beneficiary fills it out online. The US citizen has nothing to do with that one.

Once the DS-160 is submitted it doesn't expire. It is valid for as long as the information on it does not change. The only thing that "expires" is if you save it without submitting. Then you have 30 days to finish filling it out before it isn't saved online anymore. You have to note down the reference number to be able to get back to it. As Scandi mentioned it is the beneficiary's visa application document filled out online. It's not supposed to be sent by mail anywhere.

What Suss said. And I think you can also download the DS-160 to your computer instead of having it saved online for those 30 days, if I remember correctly. I assume you just upload it to the same website when you're ready to submit it.
