I don't know either... Maybe because I have already a history in the USCIS system (DACA)? My lawyer told me that Los Angeles field office schedules the interviews fairly quickly. He said he had a client who got interviewed and approved prior to receiving their EAD/AP.

Yes you are right. The Los Angeles field office processes their AOS usually within 130 days of filing. Wish I could move my file from San Diego to Los Angeles 🙄 Im looking at 240 days...

Wow...how can it be?  It's only been less than 2 months since you filed.  I thought Adjustments of Status took 10-12 months???

Just because it says that the case is ready  to be scheduled for an interview doesn't mean that an interview will be immediately scheduled. All it means that the case will get transferred to the local field office. Now depending on the local field office processing times the interview will be scheduled anywhere between 1 to usually 14 months. My case already said case is ready to be scheduled for an interview after 1,5 months. As I am looking at field processing times of 240 days, I will most likely have to wait that long for the interview.

I am not quite sure you are right. Processing times are for all applicants but we are in better position because marriage base AOS have some kind of priority or we don't have waiting line something like that. Anyway...People from February group started to get their EAD cards and interview dates so soon we will have that too I think. Fingers crossed! :)

Most adjustments here are marriage based so the processing times from VJ are pretty accurate.

Just because a few people it interview dates in Guam and L.A., places that have AOS processing times of 3 or 4 months doesn't mean that everyone else gets so lucky. K1s often get a waiver which takes quite a while right now too. These ppl don't have a status update for often 6 months or longer.

Go to other AOS threads from last year... September for example. Plenty of people without interview dates!

Aw man that sucks! You'd think that even though you're not that far from LA, they'd still work faster. Is the field office there smaller?

just keep positive. At least you're application is still in the process and will be look at sooner or later!

Hi Californian, do you know if receiving the notice "Case is ready to be scheduled for interview"  means the requirements you submitted are complete and no RFEs are to be expected anymore?

It's a border city. All border cities have way more immigrants. I mean parts of San Diego you can call "little Mexico" (not exaggerating), so it's not surprising that the processing times take so long. I personally think the USCIS office here looks huuuge (It's in a high-rising building)! I've walked past it multiple times before when I go downtown. In fact they have that big field office and then another supporting office who handles things like biometrics in Chula Vista. So no, don't think it's small at all, I think they just have a way bigger workload.

Hey, I've heard of ppl who still got RFEs at their interview for missing documents. You can usually expect that there won't be an RFE issued anymore unless the NBC missed something and then your field office catches that mistake. Barely ever happens though. Most of the times it will say in your interview letter what to bring and if there are missing documents they list it on there as well.

Hey folks! We have had our biometrics and the i-485 just updated online to ready to be scheduled for interview! I have a few questions:

-After the first notice that the case was received, I thought we were supposed to get another notice that says they will accept the case.  We never received that but somehow it is ready to be scheduled for interview? The receipt that says they accept the case is his proof that he is here legally while they process the case even though his visa is expired, right? So we have been waiting eagerly. The other cases online haven't been updated since the first receipt notice.

-How do you find out the processing times at your center?

@LCat congratulations on the progress of your case. Aside the first notice you got I don't think you get another but what you have seen on your case status. The next thing you will get is EAD/AP approved, mailed, or AOS mail for your interview date and venue which will now show or give you clue of your local/field office. The processing time is on the USCIS site which give you an idea of the month they are processing now though not perfectly accurate sometimes. Good luck.
