Hello to everyone, has anyone received any information if California Service Center is making any progress they have been stuck on December 31 FOREVER. I just wonder if their information is accurate. My NOA1 was on Jan 23, 2006 and I am trying to figure out some kind of approximation of when I should or could expect NOA2...any information would be most appreciated. On a different note I think they need to redistrict these service centers, have you noticed that Vermont flies through...kind of tells me Vermont needs more work while some of the others need less which would offer a little more consistency and fairness to the process....just my opinion.

thanks,

Ken

I believe the CSC was stuck on Nov. much longer then they have been on Dec. 31. I suppose it all depends on how many petitions they receive at any given time when it come to how fast they can process them. If you check your timeline, there is an estimate down below of when your case may be adjudicated.

Yeah, it seemed Dec. 31st was an inaccurate date in from the time it was first posted. Many VJers with dates prior to Dec 31st, myself included, had not received our NOA2s. However, CSC has gone into high gear and most of us are now getting our NOA2s. Mine just came march 14th.

If you check out the other posts, you'll see many VJers are receiving their NOA2's from CSC.

Unfortunately with the only exception I see of cases from Texas going to California there isn't much in the way of sharing the load. Of course this is expected of an agency that doesn't follow a first in first out rule.

Don't worry I've been waiting since July 13th.

7-6-2005 Sent paperwork to CSC

7-13-2005 NOA-1

12-27-2005 Called about out of process

1-3-2006 Response sent

2-3-2006 Called because response never made it, started out of process again

4-5-2006 Called again because nothing has happened got the response "nothing has changed"

4-11-2006 Emailed CSC

4-12-2006 Emailed Congressman

4-13-2006 Got response from CSC stating that the file has been requested for processing (Hopefull yeah!)

6-30-2006 Exchange email with CSC--file is being processed contact again in 30 days

7-30-2006 CSC no longer accepts email

8-21-2006 NOA-2 Fantastic!

9-8-2006 NVC supposedly sends to Embassy

10-4-2006 Embassy doesn't have paperwork yet?

10-11-2006 Interview set for 10-25-2006

I know how you're feeling - it drove me crazy to wait for any sign of life from the CSC while others from Vermont were getting approved in no time. But the other posters are right, though it might seem like forever, the date hasn't been on dec 31 for THAT long.

It helped me quite a bit to be on the CSC/TSC Unite! waiting list thread over on the "General Discussion" forum ( http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...topic=57&st=210 ). So I could always see if others with a NOA1 date close to mine were getting approved (or not).

Greetz,

Sandra

AOS & EAD:

10/13/2006 - sent AOS and EAD documents

10/18/2006 - NOA1

11/02/2006 - biometrics appointment in Santa Ana

01/05/2007 - interview appointment in Santa Ana - APPROVED!!!

01/16/2007 - greencard in mail

01/22/2007 - EAD card in mail (well, thank you very much)

OKay I think I have it figured out. According to the California Center, they do try to follow first in, first out. However, there is a slight problem. When a clerk finishes the last application they have, they go get several more from the top. This happens with all the clerks (how many I don't know, could be 5-10-15-20). So at the end of the day, between all the clerks, they can have a wide range of dates for the applications they are working on. While one might have Dec 20-22 in their stack, another might have Dec 28-30 in their stack. When a processing date is posted, they just get the latest day that anyone is working on, not the dates of what everyone is working on. So when they posted Dec 31, someone was actually working on a Dec 31 application, but everyone else was still working on much older dates. Also, when a clerk goes on vacation, what's on their desk probably stays there until they come back. This is the only thing I can think of that would explain why there is such a wide range of dates that they work on at the same time.

Now with the above being said, it does seem like California, for the most part is starting to finish most Nov/Dec applications and are slowly starting to work their way into January. My guess is that now you will start seeing some January NOA1's getting approved along with all the leftovers from Dec. Now if there are any Nov left over, well, sorry, the clerk for that is on a leave of absence LOL.

And yes, it is bs that they don't split the applications with all the centers. That's just our govt in action, and as mad as i get over it, i don't really think i would want to change countries with anyone else.

Good concept Jimmynuq, that would make a great deal of sense. I hope you are correct about them starting in January and I agree, As many problems as this country has most others have more and I would not want to trade with them. Thanks for the insight.

If that is what happens then those working on the I-130's must have put one hell of a lot of files on top of mine, we are now 18 days over the processing date.

11 more days will take us to the 30 days over and I think it will be time to get the congressman involved because waiting 7 months for the NOA2 is ridiculous.

Jimmy, that seems pretty logical, as many offices with data entry I've worked in handle workload in the same manner. It just never occurred to me the gov't might do it the same way! :bonk:

I agree, I'm waiting my 60 days for the out of process and if things haven't cleared by then I'm going to be contacting my Congressman. At that point it will be over 9 months for me.

Just curious did you do a change of address or anything like that?
