Submitted AOS package 02/07 from K1 visa ...I didn't realize the process can take up to a year..

Anyone know if the process differs from those applying from a K1 versus other AOS applications? Or is everything lumped in?

Just an update.  My wife had her biometrics appointment on March 21st.  We also got an RFE because we forgot to put my name in one of the fields on the affidavit of support.  Go figure even after checking things 5 times, we still missed something silly.  Mailed that back as soon as we could and our case seems to be back on track.

Now begins the wait for the EAD/AP and then the interview date itself.  Looking at the 2016 thread, seems like June 2016 is being processed right now so about 10 months of waiting.

It looks like we're on similar tracks! Biometrics appointment for us was 3/20.

Can I ask what your online case status says for your I-485? Mine is still stuck on "Fingerprint Fee Received".

Hey everyone. NYC is also my local field office.

AOS sent in February 23rd

Received date February 28th

Biometrics March 30th

I really don't like how backlogged the office is, but nothing we can do. Maybe some of us who are eligible will stay at the NBC and get an interview waiver so make the process a bit quicker.

If you came from a K1 visa, your local office is NY, and your USCIS status is still "Fingerprint fee received" then you may be on track for an interview waiver.

Since you are applying from K1 visa you'll find more relevant information here:

Yep, I came on a K-1 and the status still says fingerprint fee received.

I know that the section you linked is the more appropriate one for me, but there isn't a NY filer thread so I figured I'll join this one even though most of you guys probably came in different visas.
