I have news I want to share with you guys first. Today I went to my mail box about five minutes ago and there was an approval letter dated 20 Feb from the Vermont center/centre.

I was told that when I travel to bring my NOA with me. It clearly states that the GC is extended from another year (it didn't specify, but I would say it's 1 year from expiry not receipt date). It's recommended that if you travel out of the country to use bigger airports or crossing where they'll likely see a lot of GC renewals/NOA. Bring your passport, expired GC and the NOA (that shows extension) when you travel. 

 

It took me almost a full year to get my GC. I got my EAD/AP about a week ahead of schedule, but my GC almost took the full year. I'm hoping that this time around it'll be a bit quicker... having a card with an expiry date on it (that's been passed) is a bit nerve-wracking even with carrying the NOA.

Yes, anything to not have to visit the DMV again is something to smile about.
