But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Aww, cute:-).

I remember riding my mare once in a Parade of Breeds at a local horse show. Immediately behind us was a miniature horse stallion - all of 25 inches tall! As fate would have it, my mare was in heat, and this stallion wasn't fazed by the size difference one bit (my mare was 16 hands (64 inches to the back), and was providing the audience with a lot of amusement as he struggled to break free from his handler and get to my mare! Miniatures are a breed on to themselves and yes, some have been trained to act as 'guide' animals, as well as being house-broken. This particular stallion was transported to the show in the back seat of a car.

LOL, I ride a Percheron mare and there is a mini stallion around the corner that would happily put up a ladder if he could. My mare is all for it, too, not thinking him any less of a stud!

She's cute, but the idea of a mini horse sounds weird to me, makes me think of humans breeding them smaller and smaller and not being such a healthy thing.

It is cute, I don't see a problem breeding these little horses unless they are unusually susceptible to disease and likely to have a poor quality of life, which doesn't appear to be the case.

I had horses as a kid, the place where I kept them bred miniature horses... I think the average was about 30 inches high. I 've also seen a documentary where these minnies were being trained as guide ponies. Apparantly, they have some attributes that make them more useful than dogs in some areas.

For one thing, they live longer than dogs so you don't have to keep getting replacements. And from what I have seen they are just as smart and trainable as dogs and can even be house trained!

I wouldn't mind having one!

But will they bark and bite intruders ? :P

Mine is going to live in Morocco, but we will visit it during the holidays! Fabulous creatures!

There is a donkey market about 20 minutes from my husband's home town!
