I believe IR-5 visa holders have 6 months to enter the USA once visa has been issued. You have one year to get you actual green card.

No actually, they give you a stay in your country time based on your situation.   My mom got 1 month and a few weeks to leave the country, but once you enter the US, I think it triggers the one year duration or the one year is from issuance of the visa, whichever way.  Just make sure you know how long your travel window is.

Now you would expect that an institution that does a procedure hundreds of times per day would have it down pat.  Nope, we thought the medical results would have been sent to the embassy but they told us that overseas sent them the results in the 'wrong format' so they had to resend it, then the doctors had to translate the results and send them to the embassy by this Wednesday 12/6....phew!!!! Hey, I'm still not going to sweat it.

Finaaallly!!!! the embassy just called my mom like literally a minute ago.  She has her interview next Friday 12/15 and they said she only had a month to leave the country....oh boy...Almost there guys....almost at the end!!!

Good luck to us all!!!

After DS260 it takes roughly 11 weeks to get a feedback that your case was reviewed and in line for interview.  I got that email maybe week 7-8.   But...I had gotten that information before the email, cause I called; yes...bug them politely.  I would say every two weeks.  Then they sent the actual interview date maybe a week after being in queue, remember though that dates are tied to specific embassies, some are quick, some not.

Good luck to us all!!!

Hi  @ caramel swirl my parents are in queue for their interview. They have not done their vaccinations yet . Do you remember how many of them are needed? Should they take it before the medical ?

I got an email from  NVC saying missing document.  Asking to submit ds 260 online.  But I  already submitted it and send the confirmation letter with the civil documents.  Did any of you get this email?

Give NVC  a call and confirm that they have all your required documents.  I know the updates for a lot of people shows that you should submit documents but in fact NVC has them .  Good luck!!!

Well it all depends on their current immunization status.  Shots can include flu (depending on the time of year), varicella,  Pneumocccal, TDap, MMR, Hepatitis and a few others.  My mom just got flu, TDap & Pneu.   In Jamaica you can do the vaccines before, but I felt more comfortable in letting the approved doctors administer all medical related procedures; I wasn't about to risk the process by saving a few dollars.  Some persons have been successful in doing pre-vaccines; it's a choice + if it's acceptable in your country.  Good luck!!!

I sent my civil documents and AOS package to NVC on dec 6th and was told it was received on the 9th. But when I just checked my case status on ceac it's saying to submit documents..is that normal? I know I had put suite 200 instead of 100 because that's what was on the welcome letter with the checklist

It is very normal. They don't update it as much as we would like them to. You can call them to make sure they receive the package, that's what I do every time.

Hello,

So my parents did their medical in St. luke's clinic. My mother was asked to come back and bring some medical examination from Neurologist because of her mild stroke in the past. My father got everything done, but was told to come back on Monday ( they did it on Friday) for the result. Is that normal? I thought St. Luke's is the one to forward the result to the embassy? I'm really confused about it.

Also, my parents interview was set by the NVC.  Is that all they needed? Should I contact the embassy in the Philippines to make sure it is set?  Thank you for the help.

My son filed I-864 and I-864A which we both signed. It was accepted by NVC and forwarded to Islamabad, Pakistan, embassy but they are not accepting and want another person's I-864A. That my income is low. Although it is $44500 for 3 dependants. They they don't want to explain and talk. What should I do? Please help.

Did you meant household of 3?

I think they want you to have a co-sponsor, also if you have assets you can use them.

Question, I got my I130 approval december, early this month got my case number for NVC, selected the agent (myself), 1 day later made thr first payment, and just this week i made the second payments, im doing the financial and civic documents, i have them all, (filled 1-864ez not the 260) and now im only missing the police report from Venezuela to fill it all online (i think it is available) after that it says wait for the interview, my question is, does the interview depend on the country the applicant is? my worry is that veneuelan embassy is barely working and i dont know how long will all this take.

thanks,
