Now you would expect that an institution that does a procedure hundreds of times per day would have it down pat.  Nope, we thought the medical results would have been sent to the embassy but they told us that overseas sent them the results in the 'wrong format' so they had to resend it, then the doctors had to translate the results and send them to the embassy by this Wednesday 12/6....phew!!!! Hey, I'm still not going to sweat it.

Finaaallly!!!! the embassy just called my mom like literally a minute ago.  She has her interview next Friday 12/15 and they said she only had a month to leave the country....oh boy...Almost there guys....almost at the end!!!

Good luck to us all!!!

Hi everyone,

I am petitioning for my mom.  I just got an email from NVC asking for my dad's death certificate and I864 forms. I called them and told them that we already submitted them with the IV package.  They said they saw form I864 and that looked fine, but still asked for the death certificate. They asked if I was certain that the death certificate was included in the IV package and I replied 'yes.' They said that they would tell their supervisor but unable promise how long it would take.  Do you think I should re-send the death certificate again or leave it to the 'supervisor' to look for it?

If you have it, I'd go ahead and send it over, esp if they said they don't know how long it would take...

Hello, I'm petitioning both of my parents, I just have a question and hopefully those who knows maybe they can comment that will be very helpful and appreciated. So my question is once I get the case number is it possible for my parents to do advance medical exam showing the case number and NOA2? The reason I'm asking is after all reading about sputum it scares me and  my parents are from down south Philippines, so they have to travel to Manila. Thank you everyone! hope to hear from some of you.

Unfortunately, you'd have to wait until you get your parents' interview scheduled before they can get their medical examination. I believe one requirement they need to bring is the interview schedule from the NVC

Nope.  Got to follow the process.  You need your interview schedule letter to show for most countries.  Plus, if you should do the medical now, just for instance, the timeline between your case number and time for interview could extend into an expired medical result.  It might make sense to you to save time and have it done now but there is logics in the process.

My mom had to do the sputum test, which set us back 2 months, but they just came back ok.   Hang in there.

Good luck to us all!!!

NVC will communicate with the embassy to schedule your appointment and transfer your packet to them.    Generally you will need that interview letter, but some people have had success in doing their medical appointment/actual medical with just their case number.  Get in touch with your hospital/immigration doctor see if this is possible.  Word of caution though, be mindful that medicals have expiration dates for immigration purpose, so I would suggest you wait for an interview date.

My mom's interview went well today.  They asked her generic questions just to verify the information on her documents eg. name, who filed for you, did you ever overstay your visa?    Told her they will call and say when to collect her passport at DHL.

I checked the CEAC site and her status was updated today to AP (which is the norm).  Hopefully, it won't stay in AP for but a few days, cause I would love for her to be here before 2018.

Good luck to us all!!!

Congrats to you caramel👌🏻👌🏻

Do you mind telling me the processes that took place after the submission of Ds260? I have submitted all the documents and DS 260 on the 28th of November .what can we expect next ? I know it takes full 11 weeks for them to review all the documents. Do I need to call them in between ?

After DS260 it takes roughly 11 weeks to get a feedback that your case was reviewed and in line for interview.  I got that email maybe week 7-8.   But...I had gotten that information before the email, cause I called; yes...bug them politely.  I would say every two weeks.  Then they sent the actual interview date maybe a week after being in queue, remember though that dates are tied to specific embassies, some are quick, some not.

Good luck to us all!!!

Good morning guys! Quick update on my mom's petition:

After exactly 4 weeks, Japanese Embassy called and informed her that her police clearance is ready for pick up! :) Tomorrow first thing in the morning, she's picking it up and sending it via 2GO to the US Embassy. Hopefully it won't take long to get her visa especially with Christmas coming soon. I am very excited to see and be with her again! :)
