Applying for US citizenship, Married but seperated

Hello all,

It's been a very long time since I've posted on here, but i'm still grateful to apart of this community.

I've been a permanent resident since 08/17/12. I split up from my ex husband 11/01/2015. We haven't started anything legal with the divorce, we are friendly with each other and I guess that's why we haven't really pushed terribly much. We live separately and our finances are separated. 

My question is, will this affect the process of applying for citizenship? 

Any answers are greatly appreciated

you can't apply anyway now, once you have been a GC holder for 5 years, 90 days before the 5 years and beyond  you can apply

 

your five years are 8/17/17, so 90 days prior to that you can apply

You can't apply based on marriage as that requires still living with your USC spouse, which you no longer do but you'll be able to apply with the 5-year rule, like aleful said.
