Hello everyone, I am I-751 January filers as well and have some questions.. I havent received any biometric appointment (it is a lil expected because we submit FD-258 card). My husband is in service and currently station in Korea on a unaccompanied tour, but we still stayed with him for a while because he have his own place and thats where we submit the I-751 Form from. In about 2-3 months we are PCSing in Japan (accompanied tour) does anyone know if its possible to expedite the process? or how to do it? TIA

04 Jan 2017: Filed I-751 Form

10 Jan 2017: Received NOA1

Dear iammrsthompson

I do not have an answer for your question, however I do feel that you should make an InfoPass appointment whenever that is possible and check with the immigration officer there. Typically your biometrics appointment is scheduled 1-2 months for CSC and 1-3 months for VSC after you send your packer. Also, make sure that you don't miss any notices/communications from USCIS in mail because you are changing your addresses. You can always fill up the USCIS change of address form AR-11.

Hope this helps a bit.

regards

Steve

Hello I just wonder, after they accept our case and when I check my status it always the same

"On January 23, 2017, we received your case and waived the filing fee for your Form CRI-89, Petition to Remove Conditions of Permanent Resident Status Received, Receipt Number WAC...We mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case..."

So just wonder, It is normal?  and What is a notice that describe how they process my case.. All receipts I got was the hard paper that extend my status 1 more year and another receipt for Finger Print but that's it.

and how many receipt number that we can check in mycase USCIS website?

Thank you so much

Hi Guys,

Just a quick question, has anyone from India traveled there after getting their green card expired?

I really need to travel to India due to some urgency, I was wondering if the extension letter would be good enough to return back to the USA. I know the US immigration officers would be fine but I am not sure if the Indian immigration officers would be fine with the extension letter and the expired green card.

Appreciate the quick response.

Thanks and happy weekend!

Hey rgarg, I don't think you should have any issues when you land in India. As long as you're an Indian citizen, the authorities at the Indian airport shouldn't bother about what your legal status in USA is

Hi ZeeQ,

Entering India is not a problem, coming back to the USA might be a problem which I am not sure.

Thanks!

Oh, I thought in your previous post you said that you know US officers were fine but didn't know about India. In either case I'm quite sure that it shouldn't be an issue to enter US either because the officers over here are well aware of the letters that conditional green card holders show

Hi ZeeQ, So

I guess my question wasn't clear. So in order to go to India following steps would be involved:

USA -> India

India -> USA

Now When you leave the USA obviously that won't be a problem. Since I'm a citizen of India, entering there won't be a problem. Now when I would be coming back from India, Immigration officers would like to see if I have a valid visa and if I could travel back to the USA. Since I've an expired green card (and the extension letter which I'm not sure is recognized there), it might not convince them to let me leave India and that's what I want to confirm. Hope I am clear enough now.

Thanks!

You should be fine, don't worry. The extension letter that uscis gives, extends your visa by 1 year from the date you receive the letter. This letter allows you to travel outside the country and work in US.

Good luck!

Yeah I think Steve is right and there shouldn't be anything to worry about. Keep us posted!

On a separate note, does anyone know what happens next for all of us? Does USCIS just send us a new green card in mail in 4-5 months? Asking because due to an unexpected turn of events my US citizen husband and I may have to move to London for his job in the next 2-3 months. I have no idea how this affects my green card or naturalization application but as far as if read, I won't be able to apply for Naturalization since I won't be in the country for the 3 months immidieately preceding the Naturalization application (which would have been January 2018 which is the 90 day mark for 3 years of my Green Card). I'm okay with the naturalization getting delayed but I was more worried about being in UK if USCIS sends me a new geeen card in the mail at my old place and am not sure how long they'll take to do so either.

Can any any one of your guys help me with this situation if you have any insight into the timeline/process for all of us waiting for our conditions to be removed?

Thanks a lot!!

When you check out the processing times either on this website or on USCIS.gov you'll see that they're working on applications from mai 31, 2016. So that means that your new greencard will probably take around 8 months from your NOA1 date. Maybe you even get an interview if they didn't like the evidence you sent. Or if you get an RFE because they need additional information it can take even longer. But most likely it'll not be done within 3 months from now.

its a long waiting game and there's no guarantee about when it'll be done. Good luck.

Yes, I agree with msdynamite,

Everyone who filed in January should get their G.Cs between August and September. I checked the filers for Jan 2016, almost everyone in that group received their G.Cs between Aug, Sep. Even though right now the USCIS shows May31st processing for CSC, it should pick up speed.

Hopefully everyone gets it soon!

Stay in touch everyone.

Steve
