Got a touch today, first since April 13th. I did call in, but I've done that before and received no touch, plus I'm fairly certain they are not generated by just pulling the case up on the computer, only by actually touching / scanning the file itself. Let's hope this is a good sign for all of us.

I may have gotten excited too soon. I called CSC again and was told that my case hadn't been assigned to someone yet and that the touch was generated by my call. It seems to be confirmed after I got another touch after today's call. So back to waiting...this sucks. I'm so tired of this process, CSC has gone from processing many cases in 75-80 days just a month or so ago, to where NOT ONE CSC April filer, who sent the petition in April, has gotten thier NOA2 three months later.

Over the past few weeks, CSC has increased their processing times by a few weeks, how is this possible? If you look at the immigration timelines section and sort to just CSC, then by NOA2 date, you will find the first few pages that the span on the page is 6-7 days of NOA2's. If you go back a month or so you find it to be 1-3 days per page, with multiple approvals happening daily. I just don't get it...

Coupled with NVC coming to a grinding halt over the past weeks and my embassy changing from an 18 day interview leadtime to 36 today, I couldn't be happier...So much for the idea she might be here during the summer. I love our country, but as a citizen I find this process unreasonably lengthy and inefficient. I couldn't be more dissapointed that my government is keeping me apart from my love for an undetermined and lengthy period of time, when clearly an entire petition could be adjudicated in one day if done efficiently.

Ok, I'm done ranting, but clearly this process is wearing on me.

I agree with you. The process is unnecessarily long and very inefficient. They seem to not see that VSC is processing at lighting speed while CSC seems to be sitting in cement.

Why they don't ease the load and transfer some petitions to VSC or NSC I'll never know.

But one thing I do know is that on the other end of this whole bureaucratic nightmare is a beautiful princess waiting to join me over here, and that my friend keeps my head up and a smile on my face. Soon you will be united with your loved one and things will be great for years and years and years and when you look at it that way its just a short time to wait for a lifetime of happiness. :):):)

Thanks for the reassuring words Wioombeen, I've been pretty steady so far but today for some reason it's all starting to get to me. I hope when I get the NOA2 it will be easier to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Quinn, the Visa Wait Time site is not on VJ, it's on the state dept website and is updated usually weekly. For J'burg your link is: http://travel.state.gov/visa/temp/wait/tem...p;x=88&y=22

I looked up my consulate on this link also, but I couldn't help notice where it says: "*** The All Other Nonimmigrant Visa wait time DOES NOT include K or V visa applications, which are processed similar to immigrant visas."

Does it show how long of a wait time for immigrant visa's? do they take longer than nonimmigrant?

I don't really keep track of my timeline, but since you mentioned it, I just took a look and aww, mine is 29 July! I'm sure it has also jumped...:crying:

Timeline

We sent our 1-129F in on around the 20th of April and haven't recieved a damn thing back. We can't check the status of our case as we posted it from Ireland and used a bank issued international money order (ie, we get no notification if this has been cashed or not as I had to buy the order rather than it being taken directly from my account). So, no NOA1, no idea if our case has been "touched" or not, no number to check online, etc. Also, we forgot to send the Statement of Intent and I just realized today that we filled in a 2 page G325 rather than the four page G325A. I guess we should have some notice to send more info in, but nothing at all has come in the post, either to my fiance's parents place in the States or our place in Ireland.

Needless to say, with all this I'm both as worried and as p.o'd as hell.

We tried calling but my fiance was put through to a nightmare of a woman who wouldn't give him any information at all other than we were in the system. She refused to give him the number of the receipt so we could check the status online. I called the USCIS and, while they were really nice to me, they couldn't give me any details as my fiance was in the other room and couldn't come to the phone.

Anyway. We're still waiting. Congrats to all those who are actually getting somewhere with this.

I wonder if it has anything to do with this?

I don't think that has anything to do with it. This is delaying the paper receipts only. You can still check online at the USCIS website to see if you have had any touches or approvals.

It may still have something to do with:

The California Service Center does have a backlog since accepting many I-130 petitions from embassies abroad since enacting the Adam Walsh act.

As of January 22, 2007, consular offices abroad were instructed to cease accepting certain immigrant visa petitions because consular officers lacked the means to perform the required criminal background checks on American citizen petitioners, as required by the Adam Walsh Act.

All lawful permanent residents, and American Citizens resident in the United States or with a permanent address in the United States, must file I-130 petitions at the USCIS Service Center having jurisdiction over their place of residence.

Apparently California Service Center is experiencing the brunt of this and as a result is really backed up.

I don't know if this is still the case with the CSC.

On a side note my adjudication estimate has only increased by one day.

So who knows if this is the reason they are still experiencing delays but it is annoying that someone didn't have the foresight to see that this would be a problem and divide these extra petitions evenly so as not to completely bog down one service center.

I would recommend contact your senator and letting them know what is going on. Having filed out the wrong G-325A and not adding your letter of intent may result in an RFE(maybe not hehe but you don't want to chance it.). Better to get that taken care of now. I would contact your Senator today without delay since USCIS isn't being of any help.

Actually it appears VSC came to a grinding halt around mid-May. Less than 10 VJ NOA2s out of there during the month of June, and they were either for people who filed in March or early April. So all this while I've been complaining, but I'm not the only VSC filer who's thinking that CSC April filers are going to be approved before some of us.

Divorced. To hell with him.
