Dear:

* BA *

We are acknowledging receipt of your immigration file and will provide you with information regarding the registration and follow-up of your application.

We regret to inform you that your request is insufficient in the category of visas to which it relates and that it is not possible to reserve a follow-up for the moment. Compliance with the quotas provided for by law imposes a waiting period of several years, sometimes for categories F3 or F4. We suggest that you contact the Visa Department at the Department of State at 202-485-7699 for the reference date of the files that our services are currently authorized to process.

We strongly recommend that you take no definitive steps, such as divesting your property, leaving your job or organizing your departure. No details can be provided as to when our services will be able to process your file.

Contact our services only if you change your address or change your personal circumstances that may affect your immigration rights.

Your file will remain on hold until the procedure can be initiated. For any correspondence or telephone communication with our services, please ALWAYS recall the references of your file (name and number) as listed below

As a beneficiary of green card before... all I know from this case is that, it's best to petition anyone when you yourself become a naturalized US citizen. I wanted to petition my mother befor but, not being a citizen hindered me from applying.

hi

as a child of a GC holder, the process takes around 2 years. there isn't a visa available for him at this time

now you have to check the visa bulletin every month to see when his priority date become available

Op, you have nothing to worry about. All that says is that NVC cannot continue to process your petition for now, because only a certain number of visas are being processed for the F2A category every year (the quotas mentioned). Because of this, there is a waiting list; they are currently working on cases from February 2015, so you have about 1.5 years to wait until the visa interview.

That is incorrect for the OPs case; only USC can petition parents, but greencard holders can petition kids, and unmarried adult children.

About 6-12 months before the NVC anticipates your son's PD will be current, the NVC will contact you to pay the fees and start the paperwork. Most people are done with the paperwork by the time the PD becomes current.
