Hey everyone! My man is having a really bad day today-he is feeling alone & homesick. Any ideas on how I might be able to cheer him up? His Mom just came for a visit, which was great but it made him a little upset & he really misses his mates.

My heart breaks for him but I am not really sure how I can help :(

I am sure most people go through this but it is all new to us-any suggestions?

He needs to find some new mates. Is there any place near to you that has others from his own country? Clubs, social groups and the like? It will take time for him to acclimate to his new surroundings and things like this are normal. Just stand with him and go out and do as much as you can with him.

I know he needs to meet new people it is just hard & the only place seems to be in pubs. He needs to get out there & try. It is hard b/c he can't drive yet, but he can certainly take the train into the city. i am trying to get him enrolled in some acting classes-I think it would be good for him.

he is just having a bad day I guess.

thanks

Habitat for humanity? It gets him out of the house and I'm sure people go down to the pub after a day of volunteering.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

Habitat is a great idea!

As long as you don't have to listen to that damned Bon Jovi song *smile*

All ages of people get involved with habitat and it probably is a good way to make lasting friends!
