I always wondered....why do all of the crucifixion pics have a loin cloth on Jesus' private parts? From everything I've read the story goes that he was supposedly crucified in the buff.

I believe the whole Jesus' long hair was an invention of 4th century Greeks (time and place in question). Jews hair style at the time was short and he probably had a beard too.

Indeed. Kind of makes you wonder why the Catholic league are having such a hissy fit over it. Reminding people that Easter is about the ressurection of Jesus as opposed to egg hunts and chocolate would surely be in their interests?

I might have actually stayed Catholic if communion was chocolate!

How do they plan on keeping this statue from melting? What type of chocolate was used, cheap Hershey's or some good stuff? And will it be eaten when the exhibit has closed?

Just as a point of order. The Catholic League, if it's the one I'm thinking of, aren't representative of all Catholics or of the Catholic church. They're a rightwing activist group that more or less exists to throw professional hissy fits about religion.
