My petition was just approved last night and I am working on the I-134 advocate of support. I have the 2015 W2, but couldnt find the 2015 1040 tax return forms. Is it okay to use the W2 itself or do I need the 1040 tax return also? I am also using my dad as a joint sponsor and his 2015 tax return is also missing and find only the W2. Any help is appreciated.

Some would say the W2 overrides the need for the 1040 form; but as suggested it's always better to have both.

Get the tax transcripts online. Then you don't need any of the W2'S or 1040... There are two sets of transcripts - the actual tax transcripts and the W2 transcripts
