Hello,

We completed an I-130 application and received the NOA1 with a priority date of April 28, 2016.

On Sept 15 we received this update through the USCIS website:

On September 15, 2016, we transferred your Form I-130, Petition for Alien Relative, Receipt Number XXXXXXXXXXXX, to another USCIS office. That office now has jurisdiction over your case. We sent you a notice that explains why we moved your case. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you do not receive your notice by October 15, 2016, please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request a copy of the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

We did not receive anything in the mail so my wife called USCIS and they said that our case was moved to the local Lincoln Nebraska office, then a few days later it was moved again to the Texas Service Center. They assured us that this was normal and there was nothing further they need from us at this point.

Was this the NOA2? The timing would fit but I don't have any indication it is with the NVC.

Thanks for any help, I feel very in the dark. My wife has moved back to the US (from Canada) with our children and is working full time. They did permit me to come as a visitor for 6 months which is where I am now but we still have our residence in Canada (mail is being forwarded).

Unfortunately no, the Nebraska service center has too much workload so they are transffering petitions to the Texas service center for faster processing.

There are alot of cases being transffered out of Nebraska to Texas.

well yes, Nebraska branch has been the slowest processing branch, probably alongside California. it's good that your petition got transferred to Texas branch, because they are quick.

Our priority date was April 28th, 2016. This seems to be quite slow based on the Historical processing times here at VJ does it not?

Thanks!

Slow not really. You are still within the processing time. You are just 5 months and 5 days now.

More like 6 months you meant right?

I believe that's the processing time that the USCIS take to look at the I-130's. if you don't get anything by the 6 months mark, you can contact them.

Same thing just happened to me. I so happen to check the status on the website to find out that they moved my case from Nebraska to Texas. I never received any notice about this either. They seem to do as they please. Not taking in the fact that people are separated from loved ones. And this can be full of STRESS.

I am following to see what others have to say regarding this matter because I am in the same boat.

SIGH!!!
