I think the transcript is enough, you can request it online and it's free :)https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript

hi, claudiag and vj'ers

speaking of affidavit of support, will filing I-864EZ, ( i am qualified ) get a favorable response from NVC?

you see, i have assets, like my own home, 401K, and real properties, but hate to have them appraised , as required by visa application here, as the fee is quite costly.

my monthly retirement income, as evidenced the 1099 and W-2, is only in the $35,000 range. I am only petitioning one person.

would appreciate your kind response.

thank you

You should make your own post.

That being said $35,000 is enough for a household of two (you + your spouse) so just fill out the I-864

Hi, georgia16

i know about I-864 and the other types, i just wanted an affirmation, from experienced filers, if filing an I-864EZ ( i am qualified ) won't disadvantaged my petition considering i am not showing assets other than my monthly income?

the link you gave is just about the long form I-864.

thank you for your time and please have patience with a 68 yr old very anxious senior citizen..

I have asked for you post to be moved from this OP's post and to your own. That way you might get response from others who have used that one.

If you qualify for the I-864EZ, then you can use it. All your income must be shown on W-2s. Sounds like you have retirement income that may or may not be non-taxable. Do not know, as you did not specify. If the income amount shown on your 2015 W-2 meets the requirement, then go ahead, though you can use the I-864 without listing assets. Assets are optional and used when someone's income alone does not meet the requirement.

You may use Form I-864EZ if ALL the following conditions apply:
1. You are the person who filed or is filing Form I-130, Petition for Alien Relative, for a relative being sponsored;
2. The relative you are sponsoring is the only person listed on Form I-130; and
3. The income you are using to qualify is based entirely on your salary or pension and is shown on one or more Internal
Revenue Service (IRS) Form W-2s provided by your employers or former employers.

kaydeecee

thank you for your reply. yes i am retired and altho i have some very small amount of income in W-2's coming from my ex employer, the bulk of my monthly income comes from 1099 or pension (SS and company pension)

my concern/question, wouldn't my laziness not to go the long route and not paying for property appraisals, but instead just declare my small monthly income of $35000/mo on the I-864EZ form, disadvantage or affect negatively my petition? ( yes, of course, i qualify for the I-864EZ form.

would appreciate your advice. thanks

If your income meets or beats the requirement, no need for assets. You don't need to bother with them. You just need to provide documentation that your current income meets the requirement.

You keep saying your monthly income is $35k. That is a large amount annually. Even if you are meaning $35k a year, then you more than meet the requirement for a household of 2 > https://www.uscis.gov/system/files_force/files/form/i-864p.pdf

thank you, kaydeecee, for your time and patience.

sorry, i made a fool of myself by saying monthly for a $35,000 annual pension.

i am just anxious to make things right and get this petition successful.

bless you both for helping me.
