Will they ask about my mental health? If so will they discriminate against me because i am on SSI and have a mental disability? Will they deny our applicstion because of this? If they have no right to know my mental health how can i avoid this in the interview? I am the wife and the US citizen thats asking this. If they do have a right to know shoukd i get something from my doctor explaining that i can mentally make my own decisions. I am bipolar by the way.

No, they won't ask anything at all. The visa is for your husband. They are interested in his health and background, not yours.

They will check to see if you have committed certain crimes that could mean your husband is at risk (domestic violence, for example) or to see if you have been involved in immigration fraud in the past.

Do you have a co-sponsor?

I would not be surprised if they asked if you were working and when the answer is that you are not, why you are not working. It is up to your husband to not overshare if at all possible. He should be truthful of course.

Your bipolar disorder must be severe in order to get SSI, have you put some thought into how that might impact your future with this man? There are many cases of divorces after the fact on this forum due to issues such as bipolar that the spouse was not prepared for.

We went through maybe the easiest embassy for immigration in the world and even my husband got asked the following, you can see how there might be elaboration points in there for the CO to ask about the SSI.

Why hadn\\\'t the USC really been working a lot for the previous years?

How did she afford to live on so little?

What was she studying?

Was the USC planning on having a career in America?

They will not ask directly but indirect questions may come up simply because of biographical information submitted. G325-A and so on. Do you have a co-sponsor?

I ask that we not get into another thread about Bipolar spouse or other similar relationship situation. Please stick to what the OP asked.

Thank you all for your support .another question... about sworn affidavit . these need to be typed or hand written? And may i sign on behalf of the person who is giving me permission? My mom works at a lawfirm and she said I can sign on their behalf. Also, does my husband need to have afadavits from his fsmily too? I am the petitioner he is the beneficiary.
