Afternoon everyone,

Looks like I'm going to be getting laid off effectively on November 1st, my fiancee's visa interview is November 10th at the London embassy. My I-134 form and all supporting documents are no longer valid and I'm going to have to send her another one reflecting my unemployment as well as am scrambling to get a co-sponser (My father). I'm also actively looking for another job (Had a phone interview today, so here goes.)

Is there anything else that I can do? Of course we're over here freaking out a little bit.

Ugh....that's so hard to go through. This happened to us as we were about to do our adjustment of status for my husband after he arrived and the job I ended up getting didn't pay as much so we to0 were freaking out and at the last minute was able to find a family friend to help co-sponsor. Its great your father is willing to help you out. best wishes.

If it's any consolation, you're doing all the right things, i.e. finding co-sponsor, searching hard for new work, filing for unemployment. I'd guess that you're going to be alright.

You'll have recent pay stubs, W-2 from 2015, tax transcripts, etc. Have you earned enough this year? Most pay stubs show YTD income too, and if you've already earned above the necessary amount, you're fine.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune. Good luck with the job search!

Thank you folks for all the support and especially the well-wishes, means a lot.

USMSBOW, yes I do have enough YTD to cover the required amount and will continue receiving pay through November as part of my severance package. My father makes a pretty good wage (Around about 80k a year) so we should be absolutely fine with him as a co-sponser. I'm also going to include my paystubs and last years tax returns just to show that I was employed until recently and capable of earning a living wage.

I think it will work out fine, but being able to tell the fiancee this will put her mind at ease. I thank you all very much!
