Hello Im having an 8 year relation and she is in Singapore. I'd been seeing her yearly till 2012, unfortunately, I hvnt had a chance to see her from then till now. But I traveling very soon this year and I am looking forward to proceed on applying for K1 visa. I am really worried to do it myself, but if someone could walk me through to start doing so. I would really appreciate anyone who could share their thoughts and experience. Thank you guys

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Welcome to the group! For sure read the guidelines. I found it easy, once you read and understand what is needed, to make a cheat sheet (or book) for you to follow along. That way all you have to do is 'fill in the blank' sort of speak. Remember to ALWAYS read, review and read again for all of your forms. This is to make sure you have ALL the necessary information, documents, proof and clear answers to any questions. It's very doable to complete the K1 on your own instead of hiring some top notch lawyer. Any questions or uncertainty you have, always ask! This is a great website to use! :D

  • Started Dating - December 30, 2016

  • Interview Results - Stuck in AP - Was given the DS-5535 Questionnaire. Kept his passport - pending results
  • After 8 CEAC updates (If I counted correctly) still waiting in AP. Last update was today-June 24, 2019.
  • CEAC updated #9 - August 8, 2019 - but this might be from an inquiry I made the day before - maybe not a true 'update'
  • CEAC Update #10 - Sept. 25, 2019 (my fiance's B-Day) - made another online inquiry to embassy & called NVC for status update

Hello, I am also new to this forum (first post) and I have just mailed my K1 I-129F package off to Texas...I did my own K1 application and I would recommend doing it yourself...95% of the preparation is gathering documents together which you have to do yourself anyway...birth certificates, divorce decrees, passport photos, and the personal biographic information about yourself and your fiancee...date and place of birth, parents names and info, addresses where you and your fiancee have lived, employment history, etc....none of the visa preparation companies that want to charge you hundreds of $$$ can do any of those things for you anyway...they just prey upon your insecurity about messing up the application and getting rejected....it really is easy (although tedious and time-consuming) like putting together a jig saw puzzle....the pieces are all there in your possession...you just need to put them together on the appropriate forms. There are numerous guides and checklists online and some great videos on Youtube...check out SezStyle on youtube...he is an American who just got a K1 approved for his Filipina wife...he does a good job of walking you through the process...Good Luck and start getting busy on it today....the forms are all available free online...USCIS website.

guys I am filling out the G-325, Biographic Info. My mother is dead long time ago. Shall I still have to write her name, dob and place of birth?

Be sure to file the g325A. You put the required info and on country of residence you can put deceased and the year she passed away

In filling out the I-134 form, can anyone please tell me if I can include the car that i am still paying as asset?

It's not necessary. Also, you don't need to fill out the I-134 yet because it is not to be sent to the USCIS. You will send that to your fiancee for her interview.
