Hey guys! Just had my biometrics earlier. This is how it went. I fill up the form then I put my married name. When the form checker saw it he endorsed me to the other line for referral cause I changed my name. I only had my maiden name passport. I don't have any ID on my married name since my aos is still on process. This guy change my name on the form from my married name to maiden name, then he told me that if I go to the interview I need to present my marriage certificate. He showed me his computer and I saw maiden name listed there. So I said its fine. Another person called me for my fingerprint and picture. When she scan the barcode on my form it reflected my married name and she ask me why maiden name is in the form and I said that the guy changed it. What she did is she changed it too to my maiden name. I asked her if she need my marriage certificate but she asked me if I submit it to USCIS. I said yes. Then she told that's its fine.

And now, I'm a little worried for my name. Cause on their system they change it to my maiden from married name. I'm worried if my card arrive then it have my maiden name. Does anyone here experience this?

People that have changed their name through marriage should always take their marriage certificate with them to their biometrics appointment. Sometimes they want to see it when using your married name on the AOS forms.

You should call in a few days and make sure the correct married name is in their system for your AOS forms. If not, your EAD/AP and green card will come in maiden name instead. It is possible you will not have an interview, so you would not have the chance to tell them you want your married name on the green card. Stay on top of it and make sure they have the married name correctly showing in their system for your applications.

Hi KayDeeCee, I called USCIS now and the person I've talked to said that she request a call back for me from the support center. Because the support center did to my name is weird and why they change it. I'm super worried now and super anxious about this..

I'm following this thread as my wife will be in the same position as you and we are also processing her AOS/EAD/AP with her (last) name change.

May I know what happened with your ead/ap and gc? I am in the same situation right now. The officers did my biometrics in my maiden name cause I didn't get to bring my marriage certificate on my appointment. Should I start calling USCIS right now before my cards are issued or should I just wait for my interview to change everything? Please reply. Thank you.
