sorry if this has been asked a thousand times already.

so, my fiance and i decided to schedule our exam date early and it got scheduled for october 5 next month. anyways late august we got our 'fiance instruction packet' and in that was our notice of rediness form, we decided not to fill it out until it was a little closer to the medical exam date. okay so now its three weeks before medical date and me and my fiance are in disagreement of when we should turn in the notice of readiness.

in the 'fiance instruction packet' it clearly states not to schedule exam till all of the documents including medical exam are in our hands. does this mean we turn in the notice of rediness after the medical exam? is this going to add another month of waiting? would it be safe to turn it now? if we end up haveing to reschedule the interview date is it all that bad?

it seems like this visa process is taking soooo long for us and i just want to cry cuz i dont know what to do and hes not here. im sure you can all understand. i want him here as soon as possible. thank you for taking the time to read this. i appolagize if this is a stupid question. i also contacted the dublin embasy with this question but they havent answered.

oh also if it matters, my fiance is from ireland and im from california.

It may be different in London but for me it said I could schedule the interview once I had documents for the interview in hand (i.e. nothing from the medical, the form they give you is for AOS in the US) and had merely scheduled the medical - which would be the case in your example, so fine to schedule. Maybe check if they're talking specifically about medical documents or just scheduling the medical which you've done? However it does vary from one embassy to another

If the above works out then just make sure you have an adequate gap between medical and interview date (5 working days in London don't know about Dublin)

Most other countries don't have this notice of readiness.. we don't for instance.. I've only ever heard it for London embassy...so I'd advice u to get ur answer from someone who went through there like u.

You may ask that this be moved to the UK sub-forum where many from Ireland post questions and discuss their visa journey. You may have better luck in getting the correct procedure for your Embassy. Each Embassy can be different from another so it's best to be sure. Here is the link for the sub-forum: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/99-united-kingdom/

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

Wait to submit your notice of readiness until JUST before or (to be safe) after you have done your medical. It takes a week before your medical results can be picked up from the surgery, and although we had to wait 5 weeks before our interview date (K-1) you run the risk of your interview being scheduled before your results are ready.

so we emailed our notice of readiness, and they asked us like immidiately after the email if we have the medical papers in our hands. of corse we said no, and that its scheduled for oct 5. they then said to resend the noticeof readiness when we have the medical papers. so i guess thats what were gunna do. i wonder how long it takes to schedule the interview, hopefully doesnt add another month of waiting. well see.
