Slim has no ability to solve either problem, so that "solution" is a bust. However, not being one to close my eyes and ears to problems, I am well-known to US representatives.

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Good for you. Slim sets a bad example for the next generation by just giving up.

If you guys argue that illegal aliens are responsible for both sucking up taxpayer dollars for housing/food/healthcare, raising the crime rate, etc.,

AND

lowering wages....

Then you're making my point!

It's not the "illegal immigration" issue that needs to have millions and millions of tax dollars thrown at it to end. It's the societal acceptance of what we will put up with in our own back yard. Why do we keep paying people to sit in free houses and make babies? It's not those people that are lowering our wages. It is those people that are sucking up govt. money that could be used to integrate "illegal" workers into our economy.

But, no one wants to do that. If we did; if we were to flush out those worthless to our population, it would hurt someone's feelings. (That, and we'd have to work harder for less money.) After all, they're AMERICANS! They deserve to be here doing nothing. If they're doing it without a visa.... well, that's just plain wrong.

We don't mind "kicking out" those who are worthless to society.... as long as they're illegal. The problem with that is that by kicking out the worthless illegals, we have to kick out the illegals that are worth something too. All I'm saying is instead of kicking out illegals that are willing to work, why don't we kick out Americans that aren't?

We could take all the money we're paying the "losers" and use it to fund those who are willing to work. That would kill two birds with one stone.

and do what with those that are not willing to work? will they just quietly disappear someday?

why don't we kick out Americans that aren't?

And I guess next you'll be telling us that you're the perfect person to decide which Americans should be given the boot.

So tell us, how exactly WOULD you choose? You think you are capable of deciding who's really disabled, or which parents who don't work but have kids should get the boot? Do you seriously think our government DOESN'T try to eliminate fraud in our social programs?

I'd say you're an idiot, but then I'd probably get banned.

If the social programs were half as hard as the VJ process, there'd be no need to determine who was "faking it."

And, what do we do with all those "undesireables?" Same thing we'd do with all the illegals. Deport 'em!

(And to anyone that wants to call me an idiot.... please do. That's what makes this country great. We still have the right (and the responsiblity, I believe) to call people who we believe are idiots, idiots. Although, that right seems to be getting farther and farther away as well.)

Exactly! They'd be dead by the time they got a check for food. Thus, they'd have to work.

Why do we put up with that from natural-born Americans, but yet, it's so wrong from illegal aliens? Is it worse? And, why do we put up with it from anyone when we have people who are willing to work? Because they don't have a visa? That's #######!

No. It's because it's easy to turn a blind eye to f'd up social programs here in the U.S. because they don't affect us on a daily basis. We throw a little money and free food to (fat) poor people and they agree to only rape, kill, steal from each other, and only in their assigned areas. Yet when we hear from the media that illegal immigrants are going to steal our jobs, it's a big deal. But, whose jobs are they really stealing? The govt. gives out more and more "specialized work visas" every year because lazy and uneducated Americans will not work in those positions either. Immigrants fill the top and bottom jobs. They don't fill the middle where most "working-class" Americans live. Yet we have a societal standard that it's OK to pay people to do nothing simply because they were born here. If we're outraged about illegal aliens, why aren't we outraged about useless Americans?

I realize it's impossible to "deport" everyone that is "undesirable" to us. But if we can change our minds about what is and what is not acceptable, then maybe we won't have these problems in the first place.

they'd have to work? were you not one of those ranting about new orleans, how the guvnment didn't come help those who were fully capable of walking, hitchhiking, skateboarding, and so on out of there, yet now you expect those who are able bodied to get off their butts in a similar situation and do something?

although there are people who refuse to work and load up on freebies via the generosity of the state and national governments, i'd be hard pressed to compare them to illegals being here. why? because just like family members, one cannot choose who is an american. and just like a drunk family member at a reunion, he or she is still family and that grants that person a bit more leeway than a drunk stranger staggering across your yard at night. the same applies to illegals. they are not part of america, so why put up with their insolent disregard about following the law?

Why put up with an American's insolent disregard to supporting themselves?

And on the N.O. thing, that goes with this. The govt. wouldn't help those people, and that's where the outrage came from. The rest of America never said "I don't care if all these poor, welfare, ghetto-dwellers drown" what they said was "if the government won't help those people, the 'bottom of the barrel', then they won't help me."

And this is where my rant on that topic came from. We as a society couldn't look at it as acceptance of the fact that the govt. didn't help these people on purpose... That was unacceptable to most Americans. But we were more than willing to accept the fact that people with no means to save themselves from an impending tragedy (that the majority of the inhabitants did on their own, without help from the government) should've been saved by the government.

I just find it ironic that we have such a double standard for "certain" people, including illegals.

What's wrong with 'legal' immigration? I just don't get this love for illegal immigration. Are people addicted to cheap yard work that much? I cut my own grass.

I sure do hope that all of you on this site that are so against the survival of many illegals in this country make sure to never support it in your daily lives. I hope you never make visits to stores like Walmart, Home Depot, Target, etc. I hope you don't eat at restaurants that have illegal cooks. I hope you buy everything made only by Americans in America and eat food that is only picked by Americans as well.

Here's the thing...if there wasn't such an enormous need for the work, then the workers wouldn't be coming illegally from many different countries down south. It's the Americans who own these companies that are doing the hiring of all the illegals. It helps their pocket. Because yes...you could probably find some American citizens willing to do much of the work that illegals do but you will have to pay them appropriate wages. And this in turn, would create everything in our economy to skyrocket in price. I'm sure you would all just love that.
