I found out this morning that my fiance's visa was not issued and our application is being sent back to the NVC. I called the NVC and there's no additional information yet. Can anyone help? What do we do next?

This is heartbreaking. We were in AP for almost 7 weeks and then they decide to deny us. Our age is close we have plenty of pictures, Skype logs, and I sent tickets from things we did in St P so I have no idea why they would deny us. Do we have to start the process over? Is it better is we get married and try that way? We're so lost and feel helpless.

Contact your Congressman's office immediately, fill out the release form, and get them to find out information and to try to keep your file at the embassy.

Failing that, you can consider marrying and filing the I-130 for the CR-1. However, you MUST learn the reasons for denial and overcome them, or you'll be facing the same as you are now.

I just got off the phone with the Congressman's office and was told there's nothing they can do at this point except to find out the denial reason. She said we have two options: have him try to get a vistor's visa and marry here but it's highly unlikely since there's now a denial on his file or I go to Russia and we get married and re-file.

I think the toughest thing about denials is the wait for the reason. The reason for the denial is the most important information for the applicants but they are left speculating while waiting.

Visitor visa is a no go at this point.

Tell your congressman or senator's aid to request a second interview and fly over to be on the premises if not allowed inside during the

interview. Small chance but for some it has worked and a second interview has been granted.

Once your file is on route to USCIS via NVC it's over and you have to file another petition, marry and file for CR1.

Front load your next petition and overcome reason for refusal, hope they will let you know.

Sorry to hear about this. There must be a reason or reasons for the denial. Have you known your fiancé for only a short time? Perhaps something was uncovered about him that you don't necessarily know about. I'm not suggesting anything but you just never know. You are also in the minority being a U.S. citizen female petitioning for a Russian male. There are some aspects to that too.

From what my fiance said the CO was not very polite. He asked the standard questions and asked what he did on his tourist visa when he came to the US. He didn't overstay so I don't think that has anything to do with it.

Yes, I've known him since 2013. And I agree, I thought being a female USC petitioning for a Russian male might have had something to do with our AP too. He doesn't have a criminal history (just some speeding tickets in the past) and I also do not have a criminal record.

Ebunoluwa: Thanks you! I'll call the Congressman's office back and see if they can request a second interview. Do you know how long the CR1 process takes? If I go to Russia I'm going to live there until he gets a visa (we can't handle another long separation).
