Quick review of my Interview. I will be posting full review soon. So the interview went very smooth. Our interview was at 7:30 and we got out by 8:45.

CO asked who is calling you? (My wife)

What does she do?

Which state does she live?

What do you do?

Does she cook?

Which is your favorite food that she cooks?

Does she watch TV? (yes)

Which is her favorite show? (Game of thrones)

Do you watch Game of thrones? (yes, Did not miss any episode)

Did you read the book? ( He said No)

You are Approved!

And CO was very friendly and before leaving he told him do read the book once. LOL

I think our CO was GOT fan too :D

I Thank God for everything. The process was so smooth and they did not even ask for Photographs/ Proof of relationship. Also, they did not ask for any AOS related documents except for W2 (This was not really required don't know why she asked. But they returned it back).

Hi guys...I'm settled in already but I'm a little bored being at home by myself when hubby goes to work and honestly I can't wait to start working myself...I feel a little less independent right now ??? Does anyone know if the social security card is dependent on the green card fee? Unfortunately my ticket was ridiculously expensive so we had to wait to pay that fee until after I entered the US so that will be paid this Friday however I read that the SS card comes before the green card but will it come even though we haven't paid the $165 as yet?

No they are two separate paths. The advice we give is after 2 weeks (or in our case 10 days) no SSN go to the Social Security office and check to see if you are in the system.

The green card can take months. So forget about that.

Congrats on all new CC, interview letters and approvals! (Hope I didn't forget anything, reason below)

I'm writing this from my not very comfortable hospital bed, so forgive typos and errors in general. I had my medical yesterday and the doctor knew that I would get my entire stupid thyroid removed (well, as of now, it's all gone...). That was not an issue at all, he just wanted to see the doctors note regarding what is going on.

Also just real quick: interview letter arrived Friday, after 18 days of agonizing wait. Very happy. As mentioned, I did my medical yesterday, all went OK, still waiting for blood and urine sample results to come back. Bit I don't have anything to do with it anymore, the doctor's office drops everything off at the consulate.

Oh my. Well feel better soon.

My interview will be on sept 19 but my case is still at nvc. When do they usually send the docs to the consulate?

Usually they get sent out 3 to 4 weeks before interview.

I would strongly advice you to wait until you get your GC. Any job that you get, HR will ask you to show proof that you are legal to work in US. That means either a GC, US passport, Citizenship certificate, work permit, or Work visa. SSN does not fulfill all the requirements...

It would be a waste of time for you and the company if you could not provide it by the time you get hired. So, why take risk and burn bridges with employers....

Use your time to get to know US and its culture.... Believe me, once you start working, you won't have any time for anything.. because we just work work work.... ;-)

Take care...

Hi All,

Congrats to everyone that was approved and to everyone that has interviews scheduled. to those that are still waiting do not worry, you will get your interview dates very soon.

I'm kind of preoccupied now. Hubby's interview was 2 weeks ago, he was approved and the CO said they will call him to come pick up his passport. his case still shows AP when I look on CEAC and they haven't touched this case since August 3rd, the day after his interview. I'm worried because I don't know why it's taking so long. any one has advice regarding this issue?

Thanks!
