Do you really need a copy of the K1 petition with you for interview?

Does anyone know - or have any experience with the Morocco consulate specifically whether or not they have to bring the copy of the file with them for the interview?

I don't know about Morocco but when I read the guides I get the feeling that they recommend the foreigner to have a copy of the i-129f package so you can go through it all so you know what's in it. The consulate will have the original package the USC sent in, so it'll be good for the foreigner to know what's in it before going to the interview so there are no surprises, good to know what kind of documents the consulate have.

Other than that, no, I don't think you need a copy of the whole thing.

Me and my fiancé gathered everything and sent in the package when we were together in the US so both him and me know exactly what information is in it and so on, so we saw no reason for me to have a copy here in Sweden.

I'm gonna follow this topic because I too would like to know if they need the previous stuff sent with the application of if they can just bring all future stuff.

You will want to bring a copy for the simple fact what if a piece of paper was misplaced or important document . You want to be ready for plan b. I have dealt with this and sent my husband all the documents I sent . For taxes the office said she did t have one of my tax papers my husband said of here you go . And that made everything easier cause if he didn't have it she would of have told told him you will have to come back with that paper

And with everything getting send place to place you won't need everything but it will save you a lot of time if that by chance they are missing a document . Also bring a few photos to the interview . They didn't ask my fiancé for photos but again it's best to be prepared

its good that your fiance have a copy so he or she can go over whats in the petition , you want to remove all risk and over prepare ,best way to go about it imo

All the above advice is sensible. It's far better to have everything with you and not need it than the converse. This applies to the consular, AOS, ROC, and naturalization interviews.

I wondered the same thing, but erred on the side of caution and mailed our entire package., i.e., EVERYTHING the consulate will have to my husband. He hadn't seen everything that I had sent in, and I want him to be 100% prepared for the interview.

My fiance gave me a copy of everything so that a) I knew everything that was in the package and b) to carry with me when I traveled to the US if they would ever ask about it. They never did but it felt good to have just in case. I even brought it with me to the interview but never had to show it but like I said, felt good to have it just in case
