Case Complete to Interview August 2016

Hey guys!!! So our case was recieved at the embassy on June 22nd. Since then it was touched June 29 th and 30th and July 1st. Since then it has not been touched and our interview is this coming Tuesday. Are they done "studying" our case lol.

We were approved

I literally felt the weight lift off of my shoulders. The interview was so incredibly easy, the only bad thing was having to wait 2 hours on an empty stomach - totally my fault because I couldn't eat breakfast due to the nerves. They asked super basic questions...when/where did we get married, what our plans are for the nearest future, if either of us has ever been divorced and that was it.

The CO said to pick up passport in 5 days....so now what? I keep worrying that we will get AP or something since I have read about that on here. how would one know if everything is going smoothly? CEAC still appears as "ready" but it has only been 1 day.

I am so happy but still have this unsettling feeling in my stomach. I won't truly believe it until we officially move to the US at the end of the month. Fingers crossed that everyone works out.

And I wish everyone else good luck, listening to the CO say congratulations your visa has been approved made all of this stress worth it. Your time will come soon!

On a small side note there were 2 people who were also there for residency visas but had done everything through an attorney. I am so incredibly thankful that we decided to do everything ourselves. Both of them were given slips because they didn't have all of their required documents and were told that their process would be severely delayed due them not having the correct documents and translations.

No appointment. Go there first thing is best take your money (sometimes debit machine doesn't work).

I don't know why people bother so much about their case being touched before they go for interview,as long as uv gotten your interview date the best you can do is go for your interview, whether your case was touched or not u still have to show up for the interview anyway, so why bother your head,pls people stop it biko

Is there a chance i might get an interview date for September?

Really hard to say since PD's are being Retrogressed. All you can do is wait and see. This is from another post explaining retrogression.

The Aug. 2016 visa bulletin comes with this statement.

"VISA AVAILABILITY.

Number use in the Worldwide F2A and F3 preference categories has increased dramatically, and is quickly approaching those fiscal year 2016 annual limits. Therefore, it may be necessary to retrogress those final application dates for the month of September. Any retrogression in the F2A and F3 preference categories would be temporary, with those dates returning to the latest reached during FY-2016 when the October dates are announced."

So what does that mean?

First retrogress means to move backwards, the dates will retrogress backwards.

It does not say that retrogression will happen, just that it is possible. No one knows if it will happen, this is just their guess.

The FY (fiscal year) (the new year) starts Oct 1st. So that is when the new yearly allotment of visas will open up.

All of this is expected and normal during this time of year.

Since the number of F type visas are limited each FY.

Each FY they try to use up all the allotment of visas, and it is difficult to predict the number visas that will be issued. Some no longer want the visa, some do not qualify.

No one can predict what will happen with the visa bulletin, this is the best guess.

I don't guess or predict visa bulletins those dates are always changing up and down, the number of applicants are changing.

The US State dept. has taken step to more accurately predict the PD's. by adding the 2nd chart of F types visas, this allows cases to be "qualified" thru NVC and gives the US State dept. a more accurately predict the number of people who would actually apply for the visa.

hello team.. congrats to all who got CC and interview dates.. and big congrats to people who got their visa approved..

my CEAC status shows in transit today.. which means NVC has sent the file.. does DHL tracking still work ? I'm trying to search but can not find anything.

Just jumped on to say interview at Embassy in Kingston was long but went well. Not sure if I had the one everyone talks about but went to window 8 and she said we were her favorite couple of the day. Approved pick up visa monday. Bring DH home finally! !!! Will review when I reach stateside!

Hey everyone...I see an option to email my ds260 confirmation page to myself. My husband's email address is the default address that comes up and it gives me an option to type in another one...can I actually email it to myself though? I know it's probably a dumb question but I want to be certain before I go do anything and mess everything up...
