Hi All,

Looking for some help regarding other possible visas I may be entitled to work in USA.

I have been told that I have not been successful with my H-1B application this year.

I currently hold a bachelors degree from an EU university and previously worked for a US firm.

I have been told that by studying a masters in the US, I can obtain a F-1 visa which would allow me to work for a period once completed.

Is there any other option for me?

Thanks in advance,

M

Sorry to say but you are not entitled to a visa for U.S. work.

Working for a US firm with offices in the U.S. may work as you can obtain an L visa to transfer to the offices in America.

A F-1 is very expensive - have you looked in to costs?

You appear desperate to come to the U.S. and almost seem to be visa shopping (H1B, F-1 student visa) - is there a reason why the U.S. is a necessity for you?

Good luck

Thank you for reply Canadian_wife.

Entitled was the wrong use of words.

Does the L visa require an office to be based in another country, e.g one in Europe?

Yes I have looked into the costs of the F-1 visa, very expensive unfortunately as you said.

Not desperate, trying to explore alternative options.

Thanks

A year with any company that has US offices and then seek a transfer.

How long since your BA, and is it from an Irish university?

There is a year long J1 "paid intern" visa for those who graduated from an Irish University less than 1 year ago.
