I don't understand all this hypocrisy.

Yes, Ali was great at what he did. Blah blah blah.

I don't need a televised funeral with a former president(that's still being called president but that's for a different post). I also don't need to hear about it all day for a week, just like I don't need to hear about prince, chyna or anyone else as if they were better than others.

Then you have the incredibly unbelievable and tragic killing yesterday of someone who wasn't on drugs(as far as we know anyway), had a bright career and life ahead of her(again, unlike the others who have already accomplished much more in their lifetime) and who was shot dead, not by her own doing and not by a disease she's had for years, but by a nutcase who came out of nowhere and murdered her senselessly. Mind you I was not a personal fan of her or her music, but find it repulsive that she was barely mentioned while all the others get talked about so much. Oddly enough that one also happened in Orlando.

I am not kidding, this post is not a joke. RIP Christina Grimmie.

This thread is an embarrassment, the world needs more hero's who overcome their circumstances (which Ali did) and folks on this thread want to tear him down.

If you don't want to watching material about Ali change the channel, better yet turn the tv off and pick up a book about the 60s and 70s in America so you have some understanding of the context of Ali's life, then you might be in a position to articulate his successes and failures.

i read about christina grimmie, i didn't know who she was until i read the full article about her death. i don't get why you're comparing deaths and media coverage though. i'm sure there would have been much more coverage of her death if the night club shooting hadn't happened hours later.

Outrage because Ali's funeral was televised, and apparently that annoys and inconveniences some persons because changing the channel is hard works these days.

Btw, Grimmie's death was highly publicized here, locally, nationally, and online and I remember her well from her season on the TV show. It's a tragedy that yet again some nutjob with an easy access to a firearm shot her dead for no reason whatsoever. But lots of people are every single day. Oh well. Too bad, so sad.
