My bank is offering a cashier's check for $590 for I-751 Removal of Conditions. Is this accepted by USCIS? For AOS we used a non-bank financial service and it was called a "Money Order." Want to make sure a "Cashier's Check" from my bank is accepted by USCIS for our joint petition.

If its linked to your account the plus is you can see when its cashed vs money order you cannot really trace but either or should be fine...

We used a cashier's check when we filed for AOS last year, and it was no problem. So, I am sure you can do the same with I-751 as well.

Thank you both.

Also, should I send the tax return I filed through H&R block, the IRS Tax Transcripts and the IRS account transcript to just the transcripts would be enough?

There really is no difference between a money order and a cashier's check; they are both forms of guaranteed funds without the hassle of sending cash. There won't be problems with it not being accepted. As mentioned previously you won't be able to know when USCIS cashes it if that doesn't bother you. I prefer to use personal checks (your bank can get or print out counter checks if you don't have any) that way I can see when USCIS is collecting funds on the check.

I send personal check, It does show on my bank account. Make sure you write TO : field correct.. Even though I wrote USCIS , I was lucky to not to get a RFE...

They are very picky about that.

May 3rd - Send to Lockbox Chicago

May 4th - Signed (Fedex Overnight)

May 12th - RFE (Send back because of incorrect fee)

May 14th - Send to Lockbox Chicago

May 15th - Signed

Doesnt matter. Cashier's check is fine if you dont have normal checks. Also just send the tax return transcripts.

Thank you all.

The cashier's check came out of the saving account (which is not a joint account). My wife (USC) and I (the immigrant) have had a joint checking account since soon after our marriage that we use on a daily basis. We do not have a joint savings account because we rarely use it (there is some money in it). Will this be a problem with USCIS and result in an RFE?

whichever account you share should have some activities on them. You don't need a joint savings account. A checking account should be enough as long as it shows regular usage.

No it will not be a problem

Thank you all.

Also as per your recommendation, I included the IRS Tax Transcripts. Since we live in the state of Virginia, I don't think Virginia offers a state tax transcript like the IRS does. So do I need to include the Virginia tax return form that was filed or just not bother about it and send in just the IRS "Tax transcripts" and "Account transcripts"?

Dont include state returns

You also do not need the account transcripts

Also... stupid phone! Argh. /end rant

Thank you SO MUCH. Perfect. Just the IRS tax transcripts for two years.

Also, do I need to send in copies of my and my wife's social security card with the I-751 application?
