Hey guys!

It is the first time I post on this forum, however, I've used the guides provided on this site for my K1 Visa application and my AOS.

I filed form I-485 and form I-765 on May 9th. They received my package on May 10th. I received two e-mails on Friday 13th that contained the receipts numbers for the applications. I've got the same notices of action through regular mail on Tuesday 17th.

It's been almost a month now and I am kind of worried because I am not able to check my case status on USCIS website, neither I have received the "biometrics, fingerprints notice" on the mail. On the first issue, I understand that happens to a lot of us. There is some kind of problem with USCIS software. But regarding the biometrics notice, based on many of your timelines, I think I should have received the notice already. I sent my AOS and EAD applications to the Chicago Lockbox. I am in Miami, FL.

Any comments would be appreciated.

Call USCIS customer service (800) 375-5283, make request regarding missing biometrics appointment, ask to speak with 2nd-tier officer, they should transfer you. Biometrics should be sent usually not later then 30 days after NOA.

Do not wait long as I did, hoping that they need time for processing and they know what to do. Because of late biometrics - 2 months after NOA and their error my EAD was overdue for 144 days.

Aly_1, thanks for your advice.

I've called them twice in the last 15 days. Both times I've asked them about the issue with the website. They said that was quite normal. The second time I also asked them about biometrics and the person mentioned that I should wait up to 30 days after NOA1.

I will do as you say and on June 13th, if I still don't have the biometrics notice by mail, I will give them a call and ask them to talk to a 2nd tier officer. I am not sure if it's that easy to ask for that, but I have to try it.

Again, thanks for your comments. I really hope I get the biometrics notice until friday.

based on our experience, it took about a month after we got the receipt numbers to get the bio metrics letter, and the appointment was 2 weeks after that. ( we also applied recently) So I would not be to worried just yet. Uscis mail system is crazy slow. We did an address change and it took 5 weeks to get a notice about it.If you dont get the letter by Monday, I would go down tot he local office and ask if they have an appointment in their system(I dont know if this will work, its just what I would do)

Hope that helps,

Harry

yeah it takes about a month to get Biometrics, just did mine a week ago, and 2 days later finally my case status showed online as i485 is ready to be schedule for interview. I know we get desperate but everything will come in time, just make sure you check status everyday :) and best of luck.

Mykonos, Thanks for your response.

Did you try calling USCIS Customer Service and ask to speak to a 2nd tier officer?

I still don't receive the fingerprints notice and on June 13th it will be 30 days since NOA1 date. I will call them next Monday and hopefully speak to a 2nd tier officer about this issue.

Good luck to you too!

Hi guys!

I received mail from USCIS regarding my appointment for fingerprints (biometrics) last Friday (May 10th). However, the letter's issue date is May 04th. That same Friday in the afternoon, as I was kind of worried and didn't spend the day at home, I filed an online service request (USCIS ONLINE TOOLS). I stated I had not received my letter yet and that I would like to have an update. They replied really fast, by mail also. I had a second letter on Sunday 12th. They attached a copy of the fingerprints notice.

They only thing that kind of worried me is that they say they are going to put my case on a processing hold until they obtain my fingerprints. I wonder if that processing hold is a common procedure or if it was caused by my online service request.

My appointment is scheduled for May 21st so I will just go and ask them about the processing hold.

I'm guessing that it just means they won't work on your case until your biometrics is done, which makes sense. Don't think there should be anything to worry about!

My experience with the USCIS website has been very poor. Took me some time for my case to get accepted. Then when it did i got all these different receipts. I don't know why 2 weeks later shows some activity on the website. However they have NOT updated when the biometrics notice was mailed. I suggest that you call to find out. For me it was about 30 days from the time I received my receipts that my case was accepted to receiving the Biometrics notice. The appointment itself was about 2 weeks later. Do not trust the website but call to check. I would call about a week now since if its been already 30 days. Good Luck!
