June filers here, too. NOA1 on 6/01. Biometrics June 20. Moved house on June 11th and sent in change of address that was processed. Received an RFIE on his 485 (they apparently "lost" our tax return) on July14th (produced on July 11th when we requested address change).

We sent the RFIE packet back on 8/20. It was delivered and signed for on the 22nd but site says 24th. I guess all we do is wait now? Will the RFIE slow things down any more than it already has? USCIS said we have to wait 60 days to inquire on anything. :clock:

We were so hoping to have his EAD soon. Just feels like all this is never going to happen and we will be waiting forever.

Hi everyone! Unfortunately, we received an email that we got an RFIE on Aug 10th. It is now Aug 24th and we still haven't received our hard copy in the mail. Does anyone know how long it usually takes to arrive? I've looked at a lot of timelines and it seems like most people would've gotten theirs by now.

I'm pretty sure I know what the RFIE is about, I'm just annoyed I can't mail anything in until I know for sure. I know I'm probably being impatient, but any advice would be appreciated!

Just to update everyone, we gave USCIS a call and since it's been 15 days, they're going to resend it! She said we should've received it by now. So glad we didn't have to wait until Sept 9th like the email said before contacting them!

Congrats everyone on your approvals!

I just spoke to a Tier 2 agent since I'm at day 79 and wanted to know if I can do another expedite om my I131 now that they've received our response on the RFIE. Or perhaps she could see if anything was happening on the EAD and AP.

I received some very bad news.

She said all my cases were on hold while they were waiting for the response. I knew that part. But then she continued to say that the counting started again on the day they received the response (which was yesterday) and I'll have to wait 90 days for them to get to the AP.

I'm devastated.

She said I didn't have grounds even for expedite. Financial losses in my home country don't count. Only financial losses within the US.

I feel horrible and am considering to just let go of this craziness that's called AOS and go back no matter what.

There's a little glimmer of hope in me that says: what if she's wrong? Perhaps I'll receive it anyway.

Does anyone have any suggestions or solutions?

She sure couldn't offer me any......

Or did anyone have to deal with this?

Many had rfies and that didn't impact negatively on the wait time for ead and AP. I myself got ead/ AP approved after many that in fact did have rfies. If you're on day 79, it's probably really close, since it will be the 90 soon and I believe you'll get them by the 90 the latest.

Don't just give up and go, you're almost there. Keep strong.

Don't give up. I received an RFIE too and the email said:

Once a timely response to the request for evidence is received by USCIS, we review the evidence or information you submitted. If you submitted the requested evidence, we continue with the adjudication of your application or petition in light of the new evidence.

That says to me that they are continuing where they left off and not starting all over again (Lord I hope not). I am thinking that it just put my case back 10 days from when they received my case and not starting all over again.

Hang in there!!!

With all due respect that every employee at the USCIS deserves, a hand full are trained to read a script. Don't lose faith. I doubt that is accurate. She can't tell u you will get it right away bc how about if other things pushes the case back. Stay positive. Hang in there.

My husband was with me and I had her on speaker, but she told me I had to turn that off. And she said when he wanted to ask something concerning all this that no, she had given enough responses already. She didn't come over as a very kind person. Just doing her job.

Thank you chrisete!

I also understood it to be like that. In the email regarding the RFIE it stated: "Your application or petition will be held in suspense during that time".

To me that doesn't mean it starts all over again. I soooooo hope she is wrong! I had my hopes up high with all the good news on here, people receiving their EAD's and AP's.

Thank you Kenia-N-Jeury. It does mean a lot that so many of you are reacting. And you're right, I shouldn't lose faith and stay positive.

All my anger and fear came out after this all happened. I am just so fed up with the system!

This is the 'land of the free' but they sure know how to let a person feel they are not free!

It's not fair to have people's nerves wrecked all the time.

There are so many of us out there and here with good reasons to work or who have to travel because something urgent came up.

This country needs to have a just system look after them.

If it makes you feel better, we were told that husband could get financial aid for college, only to find out two days before classes started that immigration places k1 AOS people in limbo... As in they don't exist. The exact wording was immigration is unable to confirm (name) status etc etc etc. talk about feeling discouraged and like you don't matter!! Also, his foreign ID had been denied at the biggest casino in the area for a drink and a gas station. Terrible feeling... It's descrimination of a sort. By to be told by the government that they are in limbo... Says u guys don't exist. I went home in tears that day angry and frustrated that he was treated like that.

Prays for am our adjusters and us petitioners...

It's very disheartening to be going through this but think ahead, this is all will be over one day. We have to stay strong to endure all these trying times to be with the people we love. It's tough and makes us feel powerless, unwelcome, dependent, etc. But try and focus on your loved one, this is just one step to a wonderful life together.

I'm sorry I can't give you a solid answer, but I strongly believe the rfie won't impact much in your counting, June filers already seem to be getting some approvals so your might be just around the corner as well.

Best of luck
