We have to say it feels a bit anticlimactic after all the drama. But at least my wife is 'street legal' for another 10 years. 

 

I started looking into the N400 requirements and see that we will have to yet again assemble the same 'packet of proof' that we had to do for the ROC.  Not looking forward to it, but with the rumblings I'm hearing from Washington waiting doesn't seem like a smart move.

I felt the same way..the long wait takes the joy out of the process. The good thing though is, we don't have to ever worry about this process again. I agree with you on the N400 as well. These are interesting times in America.

I got three more text messages today, status updated to card sent in mail.  (Just in case anyone is wanting to monitor the timing of the process.)  - Poohbear72.

Reposting it, as nobody has answered it yet.

 

My extension expires on Aug 22, 2017 and there is no response from USCIS, complete silence. What do I do after Aug 22, I know about stamping passport at USCIS office for work authorization, but I have out of US flights booked for Oct end, would I be able to travel with that stamp ?..I am really anxious.

Schedule an Infopass appointment (you can generally do this 30 days before your extension expires) and get an I-155 stamp that will extend it another year. You'll be able to work and travel internationally without worries.

Yes as mentioned make an infopass appointment and get the stamp. They won't have any issue doing this, but your green card will be (should be, not always for some reason) taken away from you. 

 

The stamp is a valid I551 - the same as a green card - also an I551 - so you can travel and work without any drama. 

 

If anyone gives you drama and questions it's validity, point them to USCIS website to educate themselves, but PoE officers know what the stamp is and won't give you any flack.

CSC is still slow as hell but at least June filers don't have to wait for too long.

Today I have got I551 stamp on my passport. They took my old green card, good thing is that I already made a copies of it.

09/01/2016: Filing date

10/2016: Bio metrics

08/04/2017: I551 stamp

let see how much time more now.

I notice you list Frederick as where you live - actually I got my infopass appointment at Washington DC - the office is right off the beltway on the VA side in Fairfax, so easy to get to. Also consider Baltimore and Philly. Look after midnight as that is when they release appointments for 14 days later and they get snapped up quick. But also keep checking every day - as I bagged an appointment 48 hours later when I went online and spotted a slot was available. 

 

Note the DC office in Fairfax has big notices up saying "we don't accept walk-in's" but when I was there, people were definitely "walking in" as the bossy receptionist was making people without appointments stand along a wall and feel guilty about not having appointments - but then let them in - after people with appointments had been let through - so I guess it depends how brave you are feeling.

Once in the door, the DC staff were super nice and as helpful as they could be.  Good luck!

That's why I said "not always".  The officer who took mine said it is an official guideline to take the expired document from you. 

As we all know with USCIS, rules and regs are not always followed to the letter......   🙄🙄😝

Hey thanks again..there is info pass appointment in pittsburg for AUG 7, I am surprised to see that opening because they always say on website to have dates for 14 days later, but my next week is horribly busy, so I am on website like a hawk looking for either weekend or Aug 20 or Aug 21 (hopefully I can get it before Aug 22)

Hey Teknodude, when did u get your infopass done ? Before or after the end date of your extension ? Also, any activity from USCIS ? Whats the latest have they known to keep the people waiting ? So many questions, thanks in advance
