Vsc moving so fast

Not fast enough! I'm a 7/11/2016 VSC filer but can apply for N-400 anytime after 7/4/2017. Debating whether I should wait or just go ahead and file...

I just got approved, and I could have applied for N400 on June 10. If I was you I'd wait, I-751 takes one year anyway, it took me 352 days to get approved. Just try to be patient, you're very close!

Thanks for the encouraging words  I will probably wind up filing N-400 by late July if I don't hear anything by then. Maybe reaching out to congressmen by mid-July would be good. Last time my I-130 took 1.5 years, I'm hoping it's faster this time

is it faster online? the only thing i'm worried about is if i file N-400 before I get I-751 approved, that they will transfer my I-751 to a local office since that's where they process the N-400s and then it will take even longer for the I-751 to get approved

Thank you. And I understand the frustration about CSC. When I applied last June with VSC, I tried my best to mentally prepare that it will at least take till this June to hear back. But if I lived in the west coast and filed at CSC, I would be super frustrated because I would have expected to get approved in Feb or earlier and then they we see them come to a grinding halt. This is slightly off topic but here is a recommendation for anybody who reads this and occasionally I see this issue pop up on this thread. There is a simple solution to avoid any confusion with employers during the I-751 process. It might be too late for most of us here but please pass along the information and help new filers.

 

1. The problem for us is most of our social security cards have or had one of the following, 

(1) NOT VALID FOR EMPLOYMENT

(2) VALID FOR WORK ONLY WITH INS AUTORIZATION

(3) VALID FOR WORK ONLY WITH DHS AUTORIZATION

 

2. Many people are not informed that you can get that removed from your SSN card as soon as you get your 2-year green card. 

 

3. So once I got the 2 year card, about a yea later, I went to SSN and got a new card without that on it. This way, if you are switching jobs during the during the I-751 process, you won't have any issue.

 

4. I have observed that many employers don't understand the one year extension letter we get. By getting the new SSN card, you can use your driver's license or state ID and the SSN card for your I-9 employment form. From what I understand, the employer cannot ask you to show your expired 2-year card or the 1 year extension letter because you are responsible for the first part of the form and the employer is only required to fill out the second part. 

Thanks for the reply, I actually forgot that I was on June filer blog. You can ask anything you want. It has been 10.5 months for me, I just hope there will be some movement by August, but I would not count on that. The thing is you simply just can't predict the processing times. There is just no way of knowing.

I assume that's what happened to mine but not 100% certain.

 

I filed n400 online on the 13th, and then the same day, my field office requested to have my i751 ( I reckoned USCIS doesn't work that fast ?!)

 

Regardless, your N400 processing time will stretch if you don't file today. Whilst you i751 is pending, you aren't out of status per se.

I would just go ahead and file 400. Here is a direct quote from USCIS' guidelines. 

This is a direct quote from USCIS 2. 
"Spouses with Pending Petitions and Naturalization Applications

An application for naturalization may not be approved if there is a pending petition for removal of conditions. If an applicant’s petition to remove conditions is pending at the time of filing or is filed prior to the interview, USCIS will adjudicate the petition to remove conditions prior to or concurrently with the adjudication of the naturalization application. [6] " This gives me a bit hope.

I guess it depends whether or not they would transfer your I-751 to the local office where you live, I heard that those local offices can sometimes take much longer to process files than VSC or CSC. 
Local congressmen should be able to tell me whether or not my case has been assigned right? Guess if it has I'll wait and if it's still going through security checks I'll go ahead and file in the hope that I can push them to approve it...

you can call the CS number, ask for a tier 2 Immigration Service Officer for that info.

The thing is whether it will be assigned to a local office is out of your control, but maybe you can find that out through an immigration officer. But why wouldn't anyone file 400 while he or she can because according to the guidelines, they are supposed to pull out your pending 751 and adjudicate it or adjudicate both concurrently.
