My fiancé had his interview scheduled for today at the embassy in Ghana. He showed up before his 7:30AM appointment, there were others there waiting as well. I am still waiting for more details but he was not denied or granted his visa, They gave him a receipt for the visa fees, handed him all the documents back, and told him to come back on June 13! He also informed me that the same was told to 3 other people that were waiting with him, I really don't understand what's going on here. Though I am happy that they asked for him to come back rather than be denied, I was just wondering if someone can give me some insight on what maybe going on at this embassy.

It could be that the person that had been scheduled to interview him was sick

Yes. My fiancé just informed me that it was because the person was not in.

This happened to us as well :( I'm so disappointed. I've been a nervous wreck all morning at work just to get this news. Anyone else been through this?

Me too! But again, I am happy that it wasn't a denial. So we just have to push through a bit more!

Don't know why, just wanted to tell you I'm sorry to hear that. It sucks when you mentally prepare for this day and so on...

It really does! But thanks so much for the kind gesture and I really appreciate the support.

Disappointment is understandable but everything happens for a reason. Better to reschedule than to be interviewed by a cranky sick IO. Take this added time to prepare. Have a practice question and answer session with your beneficiary. Go over all the documents to ensure everything is there and completed correctly. Good Luck!

Hey you all . It actually must have been Monday and literally started with my fiancé . He saw other K-1s get interviewed and by the time it got to him, they told him sorry but there is an emergency and that he has been rescheduled . Did they take your fiancé's medical and police report ?? They took ours and gave him the supporting documents back and told him to come back with it then . It's ok and like others have said more time to get ready.

Exactly! I had some time to think about it and you're absolutely right. But my fiance did tell me that they were impressed with the organization of our papers. So for everyone else preparing for their interview in Ghana, please make sure all your papers are organized and nothing is missing So hopefully that could be a good sign! It does give him even more time to prepare so I do feel a bit better. Thanks so much for the positivity. ?

Hey so this extra time has proven to be beneficial in a sense that I could have been more organized so definitely reorganizing how I present the evidence and so forth . So for the financial supporting docs . I had a I-134, letter from my bank, letter from my employer , last two pay stubs , and tax documents . With the letters should I get them all redone with a much closer date to the interview and also for our letters of intent, we paid a ridiculous amount to get it stamped in Accra while I was in Ghana some few days before the interview but was asking should I trash them and get new letters ? Everyone who has been rescheduled , what are you all doing . Are y'all taking the exact stuff or updating them .

For the financial stuff, we will keep what we have and I'll send him more updated statements and check stubs. This is the first I'm hearing of letters of intent being specially stamped in Ghana.

Ohh hi; they were notarized I mean and it happen to be in Ghana because I didn't do mines until I was there and we printed them and got it done with those ppl who sit in front of the courts that stamp paperwork I forgot why they are called. But he overcharge us and we just paid it anyway because the interview time was getting close. But just trying to see if we should write new letters that have a much closer date to the interview . Since now we have June interviews

O ok. I get you. Hmmm...not sure why you would need to rewrite them since they will have the originals from the petition packet the NVC sent with the earlier date on them. I think it would look off if they have the originals and your fiance having letters dated differently. I just don't see the reasoning in doing it. Anyone else doing this?
