My wife had an interesting thought last night regarding April filers and the delay we're seeing at the beginning of the month for the Vermont Service Center. The H1B deadline was at the beginning of April. NYC and the rest of the East coast I'm assuming uses the Vermont Center for that. I'm sure the I-751 applications are less of a priority than the H1B processing and I'm sure processors work across different departments. Just a thought!

April filer here. Mailed to VSC on 4/11 delivered on 4/14. Still waiting for the check to clear (sigh)

Similar to me, they received it, according to USPS, on 11 April, cheque still not cleared.

I read about tax transcript and I have sent not transcrpit but all this pages that I got when we filled.

The problem is that I can not get transcript, because if I want to get it I would have to use my ex-husband social security number which obviously I can not. We are divorced and I can not use his information (even though I know the number). So I hope what I sent will be ok...

Thinking ahead a bit, since everyone seems to be having difficulties with VSC (although our package is still in the hands of USPS, with delivery projected to be tomorrow)...

Does anyone have any knowledge regarding what to expect when traveling abroad as we all approach the expiration of our spouses' (or, as the case may be, our own) green cards? I read a couple weeks ago that in the case of having less than 3 months validity on ones green card, the NOA should be carried in addition to one's passport and green card -- but what to do if Vermont is taking its time??

We are meant to go on a weeklong holiday abroad early next month, which it so happens is already next week.

Thank you so much for doing this! This really puts some of my anxiousness to rest here. Our I-751 was delivered to the Vermont Center on 4/14. Seems as if they're a little backed up sending out the NOA1s.

Thinking ahead a bit, since everyone seems to be having difficulties with VSC (although our package is still in the hands of USPS, with delivery projected to be tomorrow)...

Does anyone have any knowledge regarding what to expect when traveling abroad as we all approach the expiration of our spouses' (or, as the case may be, our own) green cards? I read a couple weeks ago that in the case of having less than 3 months validity on ones green card, the NOA should be carried in addition to one's passport and green card -- but what to do if Vermont is taking its time??

We are meant to go on a weeklong holiday abroad early next month, which it so happens is already next week.

I think (but am not saying I know for sure) that you are fine if you travel abroad and return home before the expiration date on the Green Card. The reason to carry the NOA1 is from the expiration of the original Green Card until the 10-year card is in hand.

If you are nervous, then carry your receipt for the mailing with you to show that you have mailed in the I-751, but have not received anything yet.

I'm thinking those of us who mailed in after April 10th are going to see at least a 2-3 week wait for our NOAs. If they haven't cashed our checks, they haven't started working on the files, yet.

Hi all,

What type of mailing did everyone go with on USPS? I used USPS Priority 3-Day Mail and there's no tracking updates so far. Have contacted USPS but it's a waiting game now. I'm worried that they might have lost my package because I dropped it in the mail stream on April 21, which guarantees delivery on April 25. Very worried now, and looking for advice.

I was just telling a friend this! We got screwed over the first time, and now two years later we're getting screwed over again. *ugh*

At least this time we're in the USA and don't have to put our lives on hold. I'm a tad worried about the travel thing because my husband travels internationally just about every other week for work.
