Update: we recieved our DHL tracking number to track the visa this morning. Should arrive at our selected DHL location tomorrow April 1st at the end of the day POE will be San Jose, Ca April 8. Want him to go spend time with his parents before he departs...

(1) How many days prior the interview it is advisable to take my medical examination?

(2) Will I have to make any payments at the interview?

Everyone needs to check with their embassy. I would first check your info page on VJ on your portal the medical section. Call them. Do they send results to embassy or you pick up later.

No fees are paid at embassy you paid all at NVC.

$165 paid online after Visa see first post all about paying your green card fee.

Hey guys just read someone got denied for not being just above poverty guidelines. I'm worried for our case. Can we get a joint sponsor and take document to our interview? Will they accept it at interview? Interview is May 17. Any advice will be appreciated.

Nothing wrong with being prepared. May embassies do look at previous as well as current to be above the guildlines Not just current.

Final update: well, yesterday morning Canada Post finally got their act together and my wife's passport arrived at the correct post office. She drove there right away to pick it up and then went on to the border for her POE at the Peace Arch near Vancouver.

She said the border guard was very nice and aside from a few computer glitches the final processing went very smoothly. She arrived at our house near Seattle later that afternoon and we went out last night for a celebratory dinner. Thank goodness this is all behind us now and we can get on with our marriage living together under the same roof!

Thanks again to all for their input and advice on these forums and good luck to all the rest who are waiting for their cases to be finished!!
