quick question. Does everyone who got a RFIE for the AOS got their EAD delayed too? Or is there someone who still got the EAD/AP card within the 90 days even with a RFIE on the other case?

Hi Pantonia,

I would suggest that you direct this question to January, February or March fillers as most of them there have received their EAD/AP card with or without RFEs.

Most of the April fillers are waiting for EAD cards so i recon they would not be in a good position to suggest on this.

Just received my Green Card today We didn't get called into an interview! My card is valid for 10 year though.... That has to be a mistake, right?

My friend applied on March 28, she got a RFE regarding her sponsor (he was self employed and they asked for more financial information), she took about 2 weeks or more to send everything back, because she needed to get a lot of bank information and tax returns to send. Anyways, her EAD was approved on June 8th (66 days!!!!)...

My coworker and I applied the exact same day April 4th, with NOA1 dating April 5th, I got an RFE just because I left something blank on my I-864, she NEVER got any RFE, we are both still waiting... 85 days and nothing.

So no, I dont think RFE delays the process necessarily, I think its just a crazy lotery to turn us into crazy human beings. :clock:

Can't agree more with you! I am going crazy here. Especially my company is waiting impatiently because there's a lot of work pilling up... :(

If i may add that when i call the other day, the representative disregarded the RFIE for my I-485 information and told me to call back in 2 weeks (i'll be reaching the 75 days) to put on a Service Request. + The tier 2 also told me it's 2 separate processes (AOS and EAD).

i called USCIS to get update on background check whcih is still pending... He went ahead and submitted a SR on my EAD but he wasnt overly clear wether or not the pending check will affect my EAD so im still clueless on that.. on the other hand the pending check wont effect the process of my i-485 unless it comes to interview time so that makes me feel slightly possitive about the grim situation... my I-485 is still stuck on "may 9th fingerprint fee recieved" and that its still being processed at the NBC so its not even been "touched" since they initially looked over my paper work... lets hope when they do "touch' it again it wont be an RFE cause that will throw me off even more weeks or even months... makes me want to scream!!!

Hi all, received a notification this morning that my EAD card is being produced. I had filed a service request 8 days ago, but hard to know if it made much of a difference.

Now I have to buy a car for work, which I'm looking forward to even less than this whole process! Never know what you're getting...

Just try calling USCIS and asking to be transferred to a tier 2 officer and they refused!!! The girl said she must try to solve my problem first. And I said my problem is that my case is on day 85 and my job is waiting for this EAD to put me back on payroll! After saying everything I already knew the call just got cut and she did not transfer me... seriously? :ranting:

I also experienced that the other day. The representative just hang up on me. Very rude.

Btw, I called them again today to file a service request and talked to Tier2 and was told that I can't do that. I need to wait for 90 days to file a service request for my EAD. ??

I was able to talked to Tier 2 and she just told me that my EAD will be ready on July 20 ( that is the 90th day since they received it) and hang up. But, I'll be calling them back on July 5..

same thing happened to me. The first time I called, the lady refused to transfer me.

I called again two days later and they transfer me to an officer (not sure what tier). The officer called me back in 2 hours because the line was long. He couldn't tell whats wrong with my case, but told me to wait...again...

The officer did told me that my i485 is done, just waiting for interview. He said im in the back of the line, one an interview spot is opened, I will be informed. So I asked does that mean there's no RFE and it's approved? He said it looks like it right now. Then I asked again what happened to my EAD becox I really want to start working. He said he doesnt know whats wrong with my EAD but put in an request for me. So wait. That was last week, havent heard anything yet.

Did you clear your background check? If you haven't then that will be the delay since your EAD can't be approved until your cleared Edited by Moslund

Did you clear your background check? If you haven't then that will be the delay since your EAD can't be approved until your cleared

This is what I do... I tell them I need an update on my background check and cause they can't check it they always transfer me to tier 2.. Tier 2 will tell you if your cleared or not... Background check do not delay the progress of your I-485 but will put your EAD at a stand still
