Hey guys and ladies.. just had an update saying our ead card has gone into production/ordered. Great Great news. Does anyone have an idea how long it will take to get it now? Stoked to start working... hoping the job i have lined up is still there when i get it....

I wish there was a concrete answer so we could all go on with out lives more productively. As I have posted previously, our EAD case update cameon May 23 and said that on May 21 itwas sent for production. We atill dont have it or any new updates as of today. Also We gave USCIS a call on Friday 27, we were told it wasnt mailed. Today June 1, we called and we got a response that it was mailed on the 21st (WHAT???!!) of course I dont believe it. The officer was getting annoyed told us that he's been getting the same thing from everyone today that there-is-a-job-waiting-so-i-need-the-ead , line. Im like,, of course that is true for most of the people here!!!! Arrgh im so annoyed. There is no rhyme and reason to the timelines apparently. It happens when it wants too. Keep being patient as I am losing it really.

Hey! On average, how long has it taken people to receive their EAD's after the status update on USCIS? Mine said on May 27th they were printing and mailing my card, now I'm just wondering how long it'll take to come in and whether I can start applying for work?

Well, USCIS said that my card was being produced and mailed to my address on file on April 26th and I still haven't received it... it's anyone's guess right now unfortunately! Good luck!

That is crazy! Surely now that we have been approved to work, we can actually go ahead and start the process to getting a job? I was planning on showing them the NOA stating approval..

From what I understand USCIS mails cards with 2-day priority shipping

There is a difference between the updates 'New card being produced and will be mailed to you'and the other one only says 'Card has been mailed' then I think next is card has been delivered with tracking number. Unless youre lucky and it skipped. Mine still says new card being produced and will be mailed since May 21. im like checking every 10 mins Using my data for nothing.

Wwll... my card was produced but somethibg was wrong so they have to redo it and they taking their sweet time with the redos so the tier 2 couldnt tell me when to expect it... so from "being produced" u can be lucky, all goes right, n u have it in weeks... or things go wrong n u can wait months without an exact time

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.. but we're allowed to work from the approval aren't we? with the notice of approval ?

My son's AP changed to "your AP document was produced", nothing on my EAD/AP. I swear I have more grey hair from this process.

I know youre allowed to with an approval of AOS because technically you are a resident from that moment (said a tier 2 officer) you just dont have hard proof (the card) i would think its the same with EAD but i am not sure

i might have to call and ask - Essentially they have approved me to work so you'd think it would be the same concept.. but who knows, maybe they'll come up with a valid excuse as to why I can't work with an approval notice but I can once I have the card in hand. My GC update has not changed since Mar 29th but my AP and EAD have both been approved and have been mailed "apparently" now I'm not too sure after reading some horror stories.

Pretty sure we're all going to have grey heads of hair after this!

I think technically, yes, you can work but I doubt employers will hire without the actual card. Besides that, you still need the card yo get your Ssn, right?

I have been told so many different things regarding the SSN - I've been told once I actually have my approval NOTICE that I can try to go in and it depends on the person entirely whether or not they'll give me my SSN without the actual card.. So on Tuesday, we are going to make an attempt.

Their website says they require the card, but I'd definitely try if it's close and you have the time to.

haha I am not sure if you have followed my previous posts here... but my patience really has ended... big time...

Especially since people approved after me already have the card, and mine aint even produced yet... it is getting on my nerves so big now... I don't even know how patient I can be or how soon I can be at lee's summit to get my card produced....

I am really starting to lose it haha... mostly because being approved got me so excited and happy, messaged my recruiter, knew that I would have it in no time and that I could join... and then WHAMM week later, card still not produced because there are problems producing the cards... So now I'm scared to go through the same as end may.. and I won't get it for another month, while not getting my EAD/AP either, so sitting home another month... you know

Ouch! I thought you had it in hand. I'll say some prayers and wave my magic wand - see what we can do to help.
