They are right you will have to reapply but since it is hard to get K 1 approved in Egypt, it is best to marry and do the CR 1

you could end up getting denied K1 visa and going back to marry later as happens to many of us in these countries

I ended up reapplying after the K 1 interview denial

i know K 1 is easier in the countries these people are from but not from any country in Africa

the progress of CR 1 would take a year but if you go k1 and no visa, and have to return for marriage, the process will be a lot longer

Marry when you go

Take the application with you and have spouse help filling out the section that needs to be done in native language of beneficiary

Incha allah

all will go ok

Agree. The chances of denying a K1 visa in countries of North Africa and the Middle East are higher than the chances of denying a CR-1 Visa.

The immigration process caused me PTSD.

Why did you get denied K-1 if you don't mine me asking? Why did your process have so much difficulty?

Do most K-1's get denied from Egypt? Is it because of a large age difference or other factors? We have this window of opportunity in April and we just want to make sure we do the right visa, repaying another filing fee is not a problem but for a visa to take years upon years is so disheartening. We have some red flags for sure but if it's already so difficult without them.....well, I am torn.

Is DFC possible?

Would love to hear from more couples who are currently going through or who have been through the Cairo Embassy or North Africa in general please.

The usual factors can apply for Egypt as other MENA countries.

If you are in what would be considered a normal relationship in Egypt you should not have any problems.

It's because the countries of North Africa are generally considered high fraud countries.

Age difference, the wife is older than the husband which is not common in their culture. Different religion which is also not common in their countries, etc..

In CR-1 Visa, they USCIS looks at the couples as a husband and wife/family, unlike the K-1 Visa couples who does not have any legal title.

What do you believe your red flags are?

The immigration process caused me PTSD.

I don't feel so comfy telling our story in an open form.......can the general public see what I write on my personal page? Or in my "About me"?

Yes

I would not worry about it, as long as your relationship looks normal from an Egyptian perspective that is all that matters.

Step 1: Have a real relationship

Step 2: Have proof to verify your relationship beyond a reasonable doubt

Egypt is a high fraud country yes. You need to go above and beyond to prove your relationship.

That means actual face to face time.

How did you meet? Was it under odd circumstances (i.e. one more likely to be fraudulent)?

How long have you known each other? Did you start this after only a couple months or is there a lengthy timeline of history together?

Red flags are as indicated: significant age difference or religion

Meet his family, make sure you spend time in person together, document everything everything.

You won't be denied just because its not 'normal' but they might ask you for more proof, make you wait longer, requiring additional RFEs etc.
