to get an EB3, the applicant must have relevant, proven skill and/or education AND there must not be any qualified American citizen available for the job....with a 5% unemployment rate, that seems farfetched ....(of course, any unethical immigration attorney will use any means possible to dummy up an application/labor certification in exchange for money)...plus there is a wait time...around 3+ years, I believe, last time I looked....

How can it be farcical and unachievable and over subscribed?

Not sure about the first....the second would take a while...and there are a limited number of EB3 visas available each year and a country can only get about 7% of the available number, and there is usually more demand than available slots.

Sorry, I've no experience in this situation.

Was the person that told you there's a new variation able to tell you or cite this information...that might be huge for others.

P&B

I will update you after the interview. It will be 2/22/16.

This is not an EB3 and there is no immigration attorney involved. Her interview is 2/22/16 and if approved I will be glad share what paperwork I used. It will be a non immigrant visitor visa if granted. Also all information submitted is straight forward and completely true.

As with any non-immigrant visa, what will the niece be able to show that will compel her to return to PI after your wife recovers or her authorized stay expires?

I am so sorry about your wife's stroke, I hope she makes a full recovery.

Good luck

Thank you!

Our niece has an interview scheduled for 2/22/16. we will see what happens.

OP, sincere wishes for your wife's recovery.

This topic seems to enable discussion of a situation that has happened just this week. A young Ecuadorian man was badly burned in an industrial accident there, and he was granted some type of visa to be flown to Houston (!) for treatment (utterly unavailable in Ecu) at a specialized burn-center. In addition, a handful of friends or relatives were granted visas on an emergency basis to follow him and (I presume) sit with him. One such person has apparently arrived already.

The Ecuadorian consulate in Houston was apparently involved in facilitating these occurrences. I can't get much more of a story, or a more understandable one, from Mrs. T-B. about this, even if she had more to tell.

This is the first that I've heard of such a thing happening. On what basis would these visas have been granted, what type of visas are they, and what would be their duration?

Niece's interview will be 2/22/16 and I will relay the result.

Thank you for your good wishes!

So what reasons will your niece be using to apply B2 visa?

Done with K1, AOS and ROC

Maybe wife's parents, or older, more experienced relatives.. Why specifically a single 20-odd yr old niece?

OP, sorry to hear about your wife, hope she makes a full recovery.

Wife's mother is 83 and not able to come, two brothers that are the bread winners for their family and one sister that has health issues that prevent her from coming. Her father died in 1993. This particular niece was chosen by her family.

Has an interview 2/22/16.

Caring for a sick family member?

Yes we are being very straight forward and transparent. Supposedly things have changed a little. I don't know if it is true or not but we will find out shortly.
