Must have missed the mention that he was a senior professor at CEIBS.

I assume you are USC so your child has no issue to get US citizenship on birth in China. Since you have no issue on money , you may be affordable for in a world-class hospital in China to get same /

I don't think he mentioned it; just saying that assuming anything in this case is wrong headed.

And as I mentioned, those salaries scale down to lesser schools. But yeah, teaching English in the middle of nowhere would be a lot less.

Meh, only if you are a college professor. The average ESL teacher for K-12 makes between 12500RMB - 20000RMB per month (approximately $1900-$3100 per month). the $145k + salaries he is speaking of are probably unique to that school. Most colleges there only pay about 40000RMB - 60000RMB per month (approximately $6100 - $9200 per month).

If OP is really earning that much money as ESL teacher, he would have easily afford to go to Hong Kong for medical care.

The thing about HongKong is, it's extremely expensive. Definitely out of our price range to stay there and do medical care.
