I've got a question that I should probably do a search for...

How does it work for naturalization where my wife qualifies for in a year and these i-751 approvals taking a year to get approved. Is the removal of conditions a pre-requisite to eligibility to get naturalized or can she apply while waiting for this?

One has to be a green card holder for additional three years after the removal of conditions has been approved to be eligible to file for naturalization.

Geraldbonus, around same time next year in 2017, same thing 90 days before your wife green card hit 3 year, your wife can go file for citizenship if she is still married to you the citizen, if by that time your wife i751 is not approve yet she can let USCIS know and they will process both case in the same time, hope this help

One has to be a green card holder for additional three years after the removal of conditions has been approved to be eligible to file for naturalization.

This is per the USCIS site.

  • Have been a permanent resident (green card holder) for at least 3 years

Also found this from a lawyer site but this is what I've always thought...

  • Once the adjustment of status application is approved, the clock starts ticking for when naturalization can be sought.
  • As a green card holder married to a U.S. citizen, a foreign national must wait three years before being eligible for naturalization. However, a naturalization applicant can apply for naturalization 3 months before becoming eligible for naturalization.

No problem geraldbonus, after we are done with this we are going to do it one last time next year and be over with it forever exept the renewing passport thing lol

Ha ha! Not for us though. My wife is planning to petition her mother once she becomes a citizen. That may be on her at that point but I'm sure as heck the prep work and paperwork is going to land on my lap. :)

I was about to send our package in, wondering if I have enough evidence?

  • Copies of the passport, green card and social security card of Cong Zhao.
  • Two sworn affidavits by U.S. citizen friends, attesting to our relationship and marriage.
  • Copy of the bank statements for December 2015 and January and February 2016, which we received for our joint checking and savings accounts at Dollar Bank.
  • Copy of our Dollar Bank debit cards.
  • Copy of our 2015, 2014 and 2013 joint US tax transcripts.
  • Printout from Fidelity showing my wife, Cong Zhao, and our daughter as the beneficiaries.
  • Printout from my company of the designation of my life and personal accident insurance to my wife, Cong Zhao.
  • Copy of our state driver’s license/ID cards showing the address of our residence.
  • Copy of our visa cards showing a joint account.
  • Copy of our health insurance card showing a joint policy.
  • Copy of our health insurance statements showing all family members names.
  • Copy of our daughters’ birth certificate.
  • Copy of our daughters’ social security card with the attached address of our residence.

Do you think that we need more?

I think USPS lost my package. L

I sent my package on Monday 7th 2016 from Kansas to California service center. I used priority mail. The mail guy told me that my package should arrive on Wednesday the 9th or the most Thursday the 10th.

Everything was fine until my package arrived in USPS Facility ANAHEIM, CA 92899 March 9 and since the package Departed USPS Facility ANAHEIM, CA 92899 March 9, 2016 5:21 USPS tracking has been not updating anymore. I am worry that my package lost or something like that. When I search to see how far the California service center from USPS ANAHEIM, CA 92899 I saw it is just 30 minutes away so I am not sure why my package not arrive it yet

I called 800-275-8777 to check with USPS but no one answer. I called USPS Facility ANAHEIM they told me to call 800-275-8777.

I submitted my I-751 package on 3/9, and it arrived at VSC on 3/10.

I just checked my bank account, and it seems the check was cashed early this morning (3/14). It currently shows up as pending, but I'm assuming it will be cleared soon!

My green card expires on the 21st...so I'm really hoping I'll get the NOA soon otherwise I'll have issues with employment..

USPS is notorious for slow, delayed updates. Your package may already be there and is just not showing yet. Given that it is now 5 days from presumed delivery, look to see if your check gets cashed over the next couple of days. If not, then your package may have been lost. Good luck and let us know how it goes. It's really stressful when you can't see exactly what's going on!
