Case Complete to Interview March 2016

Hi everyone!

Im happy to report that everything went well for us in Naples. Visa approved!

It was a very easy process, consulate staff were very friendly. The CO herself was so sweet and lovely.

They first collected our documents (after patiently waiting in a queue with 8 people ahead of us) all original civil documents with translations. There was a small mistake on my hubby's birth cert. Translation which created a bit of anxiety for us but at the end didnt play a significant role in the actual interview. They also requested original signed affidavit (which they had) and the girl receiving the docs asked me for my 1040 (tax form) and W2 for 2014, I did not have this because I had provided tax transcripts but fortunately I had brought copies of my 2015 W2s and she gladly took them (i suggest you bring your tax forms if you have them). Remember, better to have extra stuff than miss some stuff and delay your case.

They asked us the basics: our age, how we met, where we live, they asked me (the petitioner) where I work? Had we been married previously? did we have any kids? And that's all. They didnt ask for one picture or one plane ticket (which I had plenty lol) in fact, I never even sent any pics to UCIS nor NVC so I figured they would ask for them at the interview, and nope...

They consul lady said: congratulations, you are approved and visa will be issued in 5 days! After that, I broke down in tears of emotion and my hubby teared up as well when he saw me. The CO was very sweet and said: you should be happy! In all honestly, I just saw all these months of hard work and anxiety wrapped in those final words and couldn't contain myself.

With that said, I want to say a big thank you to all of you VJ'rs who have provided much needed support and shared you knowledge on this long journey. This is my 9th visit to Italy to see my hubby and God willing the last as he will be getting ready for his first visit in to the US.

I will follow up with consulate review and timeline updates.

Just logged into CEAC and our 17 and a half month long visa journey is finally over. Visa has been issued. Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyy.

Well, my case must be there already. It says Ready. That was fast. Too bad I still have 4 weeks until the interview.

Request an earlier date get your medical done and email them. Canada sometimes can be very accommodating.

Ok, so I am gonna post here too as I am so excited to finally have CC today! I watch you guys practically relentlessly as so many of you are Montreal, Canada too. So while I haven't posted here, hubby and I keep an eye on this forum too just to see where you guys are with the process. I hope that we get an early April interview date and I hope you guys all have smooth and easy physicals, interviews, and rapid return of your visa's so you can be together here in the US!!!

Wow!! Picked up my Visa this morning... It's been a long journey and to tell the truth, I couldn't have done it so smoothly right from USCIS, NVC and the local Embassy.

Had my interview on 28th January which went quite well but was placed on AP for 2 weeks then I got my Visa issued and now collected.

Thanks to Dwheels and some other people in this forum that helped my wife and I through the entire process.

Yeah, I highly doubt they ask for that since you are technically the sponsor, but it never hurts to have it.

I agree they should not ask for proof of domicile in this case, as you said it is when both are living overseas or the sponsor has a big chunk of year 2014 working overseas.

You are tracking it. When status changes to READY you will see Case Status date and you will know its at embassy.

Called NVC and they said my case is being sent today to Juarez embassy today.

The National Visa Center (NVC) will send the I-130 petition to the Consulate General in Lagos for processing as soon as it is documentarily complete and schedule your spouse for an immigrant visa interview. For questions or instructions on next steps to process your immigrant visa petition, please contact NVC via email : NVCInquiry@state.gov

Be assured that NVC will schedule the immigrant visa interview for you and you will receive the notification from NVC. It is after their scheduling that NVC will ship the case file to Lagos. We advise that you please be a little more patient for the immigrant visa processing to take its normal course.

I checked an hour ago and it said AT NVC and i just checked right now and it says IN TRANSIT.
