whats the difference between i-864 and i-864a?? please.

I864 is the main affadivit of support filed by your petitioner if their income isnt enough and they need to add someone else to support their income for sponsorihg you who is living in their same household or a household member they file an i864a

If your petitioner files joint taxes with someone else like their husband have him sign an i864a for you too

Did anyone get a mail to the US address they typed in their ds260 saying that they recieved your updated mail/email address for this case!! We didnt update any mailing or emailing addresses but they mailed us this later one day after we had a case complete?!? Whats thats supposed to mean?!

Need your advice VJ community: my husband is working on gathering dates and addresses of where he lived since the age of 16...for the IV application. He's stressed out because he doesn't remember the exact dates. Also, when he first got to Liberia, the war was starting and during that time there was looting going on and his stuff was stolen...including documents and his passport. He had to get a whole new one.

Will this be an issue for the IV application? Will NVC checklist us for dates or was the Petition approval process the only background check and verification they do? I've read that NVC is purely administrative and gather to make sure you have submitted all the proper documents. Are approximate dates sufficient? Will he need to explain why he doesn't have his old passport?

I just reviewed my DS-260 and I do not see where it asks for dates for occupation/education.

The only exact dates are only related to births, marriage, divorce and previous travel to US.

Have you printed the DS-260 sample from NVC? If not, do it. It is very tedious to fill because it considers all scenarios and of course only applies to you.

Print that thing and fill it out, review it few times and then go online to complete. It so much faster, easier and accurate. Avoid headaches!!

Yes, that's what I've been looking at. Granted it's from 2013 and the current one may not ask for it, but page 38 of that document "previous work/education/training" information asks for "Employment Date From" and "Employment Date To". Also for education Institution, it asks for "Date of Attendance From" and "Date of Attendance To." the format shown is mm dd yyyy.

Are you saying the current 2016 version, or the one you filled out in the last few months doesn't ask for dates?

I'm still waiting on my IV fee to show "Paid" so the IV Application is open to start completing. They took the money out of my bank account last Thursday but the website still shows "In Process". The AOS fee said "Paid" the morning after they drafted the money from my account.

Haven't posted in a long time...

Called NVC today to find out about my case, because it's been more than 3 weeks since the scan date. Turns out I could be waiting up to 45 days!

Just called NVC. My case was added in the system four days ago. They said I have to wait 30 days for the invoice and case number.... The waiting game begins.

I was told 42 days to get case number, but it only took 21 days! Think positive =)
